Replying To clondalkindub:  "Dubh Linn tell me what Chris's shoulder connected with?"
Connected with the cork man who ducked into the tackle

Listen it was just unfortunate.
He is a tall guy but never the less it was top of shoulder and head contact.
He was on a yellow ffs.

Brianmac he connected with 11's shoulder, it looked worst than what it was cause 11 was slipping but all it was was a hard shoulder from Chris to 11's shoulder never a booking and no dangerous play, what was English on about the head ? He never went near his head with his shoulder.

This is an issue the GAA need to look at. Every weekend there's a heap of incidents were the man with the ball slips into or ducks into a man setting him up for a fair tackle. What is that man setting the tackle up meant to do? It's not a foul in my view because the player in possesion is the one cresting the incident with the slip or duck. Really feel for Crummey

I fear for Dublin hurling.
It seemed back around 2013 that something was happening. They were getting exposure and support they never got before, but some hammerings to Kilkenny and some bad performances since then seem to have knocked the stuffing out of them.
Two very poor seasons in a row and clear discontent in the squad what with players leaving leaves Cunningham under fierce pressure.

Why on earth did Cunningham take Bennett off ??????
He was our best player by an absolute mile, he was destroying the cork defence.he was winning frees all night,
scored some great points and set up the Goal. Unless there was an injury which it didn't appear it was an outrageous decision with Dublin having all the momentum after pulling it back to a single point with two minutes to play you don't take your best player off.

The sending off incident was correct call by the ref. The Dublin player connected with the front of the Cork players shoulder. It wasn't a legal shoulder to shoulder from the side, it was more of a frontal shoulder which is a yellow. complete brainless from a player already on a yellow card. He left his team and supporters down.

Lads, the tackle is defined as a shoulder to shoulder charge, not a shoulder to frontal charge. The onus is on you to get the tackle right. It makes no difference if a player ducks, slips, turns at the last second or is 6 inches taller than you, get it wrong and you face the chance of picking up a card for rough play. Tough but correct call on Crummy last night, who should have known the danger while already on a yellow.

It is true that the Gaa should look at guys going in low into tackles. It is annoying to see. We also do not want to see good shoulder tackles go out of the game. A good shoulder is one that requires perfect timing. The opposing player does not have to stand and wait for the shoulder charge. They can try to avoid it if they wish. Crummey shoulder charge was not a good one. He did not get the head of John Cronin the but he did get his shoulder. I broke my own collar bone in a similar incident. A mistimed shoulder can cause injury and is a booking. Crummey was on a booking. He can have no complaints. It is a pity. He was outstanding up to that point.

The sending off had a huge bearing on the game. You cannot say it decided the game or that Dublin would have won with 15. I am sure teams prepare for such events in training. Cork adapted reasonably well. Conor O Sullivan was used as a free man and cleared a lot of ball. Our free man was used well so credit to the selectors.

The other positive point is our forward line. Our forwards are good hurler. 1_12 from play from our full forward line last night is good. Seamus Harney had an off night but he has been our best player this year. Luke O Farrell did OK and I was delighted to see Shane Kingston come on. Our forward line is taking shape. They are still all young so we are good here.

The problems lie elsewhere though. No puck out strategy. Clueless doesn't do it justice. There are a few players that have been tried over and over again and are just not intercounty hurlers - Aidan Walsh has ruined his career by giving up a sport that he is fifty times better at to play hurling. There are others too that do not look comfortable on the ball.

I thought Dublin were the more skillful and comfortable looking side last night. They have a bright future.

I love some of the comments from the Dublin lads. More composed team and better team....would of won if they had 15 men. Who says they would of won with 15? What a load of tribe. Take your beating fair and square lads. A win for Dublin against Cork in championship is not far away as we seem to be just about keeping our heads above water, Just leave off the bull talk from last nights game. Cork won....simple as that.

I didn't say sending off at all.
don't think it impacted game too much.
was silly and rash thing to do when on a yellow already but he's prone to lunging into tackles so can't complain.
game changes in last few minutes Dublin got it back to a point and what does management do take off our best player, Bennett was destroying the cork defence. Winning frees , taking scores and setting up scores including the goal it was
kamikaze stuff to take him off. Trollier wasted chance to put us one up. Then Bennett's replacement plunkett wastes chance to level it in injury time taking too much out of it. You would have to wonder about management after yet another player dotsy o Callaghan didnt feature last night. Far too many players have had run ins and left panel and two selectors even left the set up at the end of last year their first year together.

Think you should fear for Galway hurling, they have also taking a couple of beatings from kilkenny, players sacking there manager, clear discontent in the squad, going nowhere fast, pot kettle black.

I thought a lot of your substitutions were baffling. I would not have taken off Paul Ryan or Schulte either. Chris Bennett as you say was outstanding. I thought Dublin were very well drilled. You were fantastic from puck outs - knocking the ball on to an oncoming player who in turn moves it fast. Your touch was brilliant as well. Thought the stick work of Liam Rushed and Niall McMurray was top class throughout. This is a credit to the coaches. I am sorry to hear about the internal goings on. I hope they can be resolved. If you do get rid of Cunningham, I hope Kieran Kingston hires him to help drill us on our pick outs.

I would feel more sorry for him if he wasnt fouling from the start of the game. The refs let so much go that fellas keep pushing that little bit to see what they can get away with.Players last night had to resort to falling around like they were shot to get a free or leaving their arms out to show how they were being held.Last night was two very poor teams in a very poor game.I would fear for this Cork team going forward.

Well doesn't say much for the hurling championship as it was the best game of it to date clearly.
