Two teams gone under the radar in the last decade.

Predictions?

Its actually a little tough to predict this one. If it was this time last year, I would have said Wexford, somewhat comfortably. But Offaly have a bit of momentum coming into this, despite their loss to Galway, as they actually appeared to play well in that game, better than many expected. And Offaly have a win over Wexford in this years league, for what that's worth. Wexford on the other hand, seem to be in a bit of a rut, and morale seems to be low (at least from the outside looking in). From what I hear, they also have alot of injuries coming into this game. However, Wexford still have a broader spread of talent I feel, and they have home advantage. And it is do or die now.

So on balance, while I wouldn't be shocked to see Offaly get a result, I think Wexford will win. I think it could be an exciting match.

As per usual the press and pretty much everyone wil write off Wexford.

Would want to see the team sheets before I could make a prediction. Some of Wexford's best players didn't feature against Dublin. Guiney isn't on the panel either is he? If they had all their best players on the field they would probably win it.

Our record in league and Championship over the last 5 years against the 'Top8' sides (the Munster 5, Galway, Kilkenny and Dublin) reads as follows :
2 Wins
3 Draws
20 Losses

I'd suggest the reason we're usually written off is because we've had few big results, and until we start beating the big sides on a consistent basis, we're likely to still be written off by the media and others (and rightly so, in my opinion).

Very hard to predict this game I think the Biffo's might sneak through although Wexford's result last night will be a boost to the camp...

Richie Kehoe at number 6 has to be drafted into the panel he was superb against Galway in Portlaoise last night he won it for them!

One enforced change, this is the same team that has played most of the year, quite settled team now at this stage. One one reservation I have is that we don't have any fire power from the bench only Emmet Nolan really who can make an impact.

Tight game to call, won't be much in it, although home advantage come be massive here for the Wexford men.

Sean Cleary comes into the side to replace the suspended Colin Egan.

Offaly V Wexford:

6 Sean Gardiner Lusmagh
7 David King Coolderry
8 Paddy Murphy Ballinamere
9 Sean Ryan Birr
10 James Mulrooney Seir Kieran
11 Joe Bergin Seir Kieran
12 Shane Kinsella Kinnitty

I can really see us struggling here. The injury list truly is horrendous for us at the moment and we've already lost this year to Offaly. Since then Offaly have improved but I wonder have we improved at all. I'll be there but honestly it will be in hope rather than expectation.

i think we are in trouble here.
hoping for a big performance from a few names people might not recognise but who will become the main men in the next few years.
but i am not confident.all about who turns up.

As far as I'm aware Chin is available for selection but Conor Mc is a doubt.

Lot of pessimism here from Wexford posters. All teams have injuries.Ye seem to have a few so it's a chance for another man to stake his claim to a first team spot.Home advantage is worth a few points.Offaly have improved since their poor early season form and will provide a stern test but Liam Dunne is under serious pressure and has more to lose.A Wexford loss would be the end of his tenure.I think he'll have another game to look forward to.

Home advantage could be vital in this game. I don't believe Wexfotd will give up without a fight, and they could take it by a couple of points.

As a man that would usually have small bets on matches I'll stay away from this one altogether. Haven't a clue what way it will go. Offaly have a few fine hurlers but just seem to have a small pool and don't have the athletic players of other teams.
Wexford, I really don't know what to make of them. When they beat clare a couple of years ago i wrote that I wasn't that impressed by them as their shooting was completely erratic. They miss - huge a amount of chances. Above most counties I wouldn't know much of what is going on in Wexford hurling but they just seem to be a county that won't progress to the next level anytime soon.
Logically Wexford should win the game but I think offaly might pull off a shock but keeping my money in my pocket on this one

Yes. He suffered a shoulder injury v Carlow in the U21 game last week.
