I think of English media when RTE describe Dublin.

Come off it would you
our media are twice as bad as the English when it comes to national soccer team.
we finished their of four teams in a group and beat an Italy reserve team with a late goal to even manage that and they class it as the greatest sporting achievment.
some cheek dragging Dublin into the same breath as them hyped up lots.

High fielding diminished long before Dublin kick out strategy

Replying To ZeitChrist:  "Marty Morrissey and Martin Carney's 70 minute fawning session was quite cringe-worthy too."
Is it just me or are co-commentators losing the run of themselves. Back in the day we had Michael O Hehir and up to a few years ago Michael O Muircheartaigh who could make a bad match seem good without anyone holding their hand. I thought the co-commentators role was to tell us about team tactics, off the ball incidences or any stuff that wasn't obvious to the viewer. Yesterday Marty went something like "Paul Flynn with the ball, inside to Brogan, outside to Connolly and a great score for Dublin". Yeah says Martin Carney "great score for Dublin, Flynn to Brogan to Connolly who bisects the posts". Every time the commentator pauses his second in command is in like Flynn usually with some unnecessary comment. Others talks so much there's hardly a need for a commentator. In our local radio station we have the luxury of two co-commentators who talk away among themselves forgetting that the listeners can't see what's going on. The commentator breaks in once in a while just to tell us that we have missed a couple of scores. I know, I know I'm getting grumpy.

Replying To sam1884:  "I think the GAA should borrow the Euro 2016 model. 24 teams over six groups of 4 with a last 16 in the knockout stage. It would add excitement as most teams would stay in the main championship and have something to play for in the group stages with 4 third place teams going through. The other 9 counties outside the 24 are Div 4 teams who have there secondary competition."
First thing that has to happen is end the crazy situation where there are 2 separate inter-county competitions at inter county level (championship and league). This is leading to a fixture list where club players are treated like sh*te and intercounty players training for half the year or more for 2 or 3 serious games.

Replying To salvador:  "Yes their will be hammerings. However Each team will play the exact same amount of games against similer opposition. Dublin/Kerry and Mayo in recent years have had a massive advantage over the top Ulster sides.Totally and utterly unfair. No one can dispute that fact."
Donegal have been as dominant in Ulster as those teams you mention in there provinces. If you get rid of the provincial systems you would have 30 teams this year playing knowing the have no hope of winning anything.
