Laois fans still on boycott?

Replying To Whammo86:  "Are you seriously saying that the times of championship matches are decided at the start of the season?

They are not, they are only decided after the draw has been made.

Are you also seriously saying that 11 or more of the Irish National football team are not Irish. Even giving the strict definition that to be Irish you need to be born in Ireland less than 12 people on the ROI panel were born outside the island of Ireland.

I try to engage with people when they have a differing opinion to mine. I'm often wrong and am happy for it to be pointed out.

The way this conversation has developed I think there's not really any point in continuing this discussion, unless you have something new to bring to the table."
The granny rule is used a lot for players to play for Ireland and look at the squad there is lot of players born outside Ireland that used the granny rule .

I will state again they might not be times added to fixtures at times of master planner and the gaa are correct not to roll over for a foreign sport to decide times of games .

I wouldn't consider it rolling over to another sport.

The EUROs is a competitor to the GAA, I think it is wise of the GAA to be aware of what a competitor is doing and to make plans around that so as to best suit us.

It would've suited us more if we'd fixed the game for a different time. We'd have had a better turnout for our games. Surely that's the most important thing.

Laois and Armagh both requested a change of time but it was denied and attendances unsurprisingly suffered.

Changing throw in times isn't about bowing to soccer or whatever.

It is about, first and foremost, accommodating GAA fans who may want to watch both games.

If you put GAA matches up against big Ireland games you will force people to choose and put out a lot of GAA fans as well as lowering the attendance.

Quite why people want to inconvenience GAA fans and lower attendances is unclear.

I've a feeling the Laois fans might just boycott this rematch also.

If we were on boycott could you really blame us though? Game scheduled at the exact same time as probably Irelands biggest game in 14 years. Wouldnt happen if Dublin were playing!
