Its amazing how many people do not understand what "infamous" means!

I think the moment Seanie Johnston transferred to Kildare

It was Mike Daly. A fierce sound man who used to coach the underage teams. You probably won't appreciate it Ziggy but I think you've made a bit of Mayo folklore there !

The most infamous thing is the fact so many people have no clue what infamous means - Darby goal, Fitzgerlad point etc etc wise up lads. Definition: famous for something considered bad, notorious, disreputable etc etc

Hubert Rigney 1998 speech , ' we may have come through the back door , but today we are going out the front door ' . Clare had semi won first day but Offaly were the better team by far in the replay .

Get over it Brolly - you actually do sound like him. Both teams well beaten on day - your constant anti-Tyrone comments very boring. Monaghan teams have never done anything underhand before - NOT.

Replying To cacsmckilly:  "The big Mayo fella running onto the field in the game against Kerry, took 5 stewarts to get the angry fella off., 2014 semi final replay.
He was heading for the nearest Kerry man for a bit of bare knuckle loving."
I don't think he had anything against the Kerry lads. I think myself it was the Meath buck he was headed for.

First game of Championship 1999. Red and yellow cards introduced with dire warnings for players. The guinea pigs are Westmeath and Carlow. Ref issues 6 reds and 14 yellows as Carlow knocked out. No other game in the championship refereed by the same criteria.

A few weeks later Kerry kick a shot wide against Tipp. The ball rebounds back into play off a staunchon and Kerry score a goal. Umpires and ref fail to notice this and goal stands.

Not anywhere as bad but in 2002 Armagh stay in the dressing room 5 minutes extra at half time in All Ireland whilst packed Croke Park and Kerry awaits. Big cheer when ref goes in to look for them.

Would you put down Croke Park allowing Garth Brooks to sell out five concerts without getting planning permission?

That was the moment I stopped following Kildare football, shame on Kildare GAA and in particular the hurling club who facilitated this charade.

For me its still the Tony Keady affair. The top hurling centre back in the game at the time, in fact one of the top hurlers in the game suspended for 12 months , yes 12 months, for playing under a different name in a mickey mouse competition in the USA.It reeked then and it reeks now.
At the time you got a 2 month suspension for bursting a fellas skull!

Irishgael i completely disagree.
Jordans antics in the 2003 final were a disgrace and did not get anywhere near the attention it deserved.
Many pundits seemed happy to pretend it didnt happen just so they could keep up the pretence of GAA players not diving.
How can example of cheating creeping into the GAA not make it onto an infamous list?

I was pretty sure the year was 1967. I was also fairly sure that Donegal were three points up
When Neilly did not get taking the penalty and Galway got a free out, they went up and scored a point
So to me that day if we had got the penalty, what with Galway scoring a point meant a four point turnaround
That was the beginning of the end of the great Galway three in a row, they were All Ireland champs at the time but Donegal could have and should have beaten them.
Donegal later that year lost the Ulster final to Down by two points and Down were to go on and win the All Ireland the following year
I remember the great full back Bernard Brady (RIP) on radio after the game and him saying how Ulster teams got nothing in Croke park in those days. We had not won an Ulster title at that stage and I'd say defeats like that done the team no good.
But that definitely was an infamous incident.

Leitrim being reffed out of it against Roscommon in 1993. Declan Darcy was swung around in a circle in the square and nothing was given. Maybe half a minute later, he returned the favour and was penalised by a free out. There were numerous other miscarriages of justice that day.
