The official end of the world as we know it - the Sean Cavanagh tackle - the end of innocence and beautiful football played with total adherence to the rules for over a century - well spotted by Brolly and his SG cheerleaders :-) IrishGael3 (USA) - Posts: 1092 - 07/06/2016 17:30:40 1863006 Link 3 |
Also talking about 1995 - Charlie Redmond sent off and stayed on pitch and then only after the referee noticed he was still playing was then ordered off - what a fiasco that was.

Almost 20 years now since the Meath fatwa was declared! Anyone from Cork, Kerry or Dublin might get a bit of jibing from Mayo people but I think some Mayo people still have animosity towards anyone from Meath. All over two games where we played lovely football but Meath showed us that scoring at the crucial moments is what counts.

A lot of Mayo people seem to forget that it was Anthony Finnerty started that row and it was Pat McEnaney that sent Liam McHale off and not any of the Meath lads so ye might want to direct your fatwa elsewhere!!!!
