Round 1 Football Qualifer Draw

amazing that some teams have not even played a game yet in the championship, Cork, kerry,Donegal,Galway,Sligo.

In fact I believe Roscommon will have played three times in connacht before Galway will have played their first game (in a province with 7 teams ) that is hard to fathom. It is totally lopsided some teams can taylor their training to peak for the middle to the latter end of June whilst others must be ready at the start of May but all are supposed to compete equally in a so-called knockout competition. It's time the whole thing was scrapped.

Oh ffs. They're ridiculous! It's probably the best tie of the round too.

The composition of section 1A of qualifiers should comprise of:-
Losers of first round in Leinster(3)
Losers of First round in Connaght(2)
Losers of first round in Munster (2)
Loser of Preliminary round in Ulster(1)

All these games would be over at least two weeks before the qualifier games.

Section 1B would be
Losers of quarter finals in Leinster (4)
Losers of quarter finals in Ulster(4)
Again there would be at least two weeks between games.
This is a logical approach. Similar logic could apply to 2A and 2B.
This would get rid of the disgraceful situation where Louth had to play Derry six days after losing a tough match with Meath while Derry had time to recover from their loss to Tyrone. Amazingly a similar fate in 2A now awaits the loser of the Dublin/Meath game.

Jarlath Burns tried to explain the current system away last night on the Sunday Game as being to assist club players. I could not understand him. We have been playing league games for our club players in Louth without the county men.
Get on with it but do it logically.

qualifier system seems really lopsided this year you have these teams in side B:
Donegal/Monaghan, Mayo, Cork, Kildare/Westmeath, Fermanagh,Ofally,Limerick,Longford

while side A:
Tyrone/Cavan,Dublin/Meath,Clare,Sligo,Carlow,Leitrim,derry, Laois/Armagh

so in all probability it will be in round 3

A: Cavan, Derry,,Clare,Sligo,

B : Cork,Mayo,Westmeath,Donegal/Monaghan

so if the draw throws up Mayo v Donega/Monaghanl in round 4 then one of those 2 will not even make the quarters.
