A poll for Neutrals - Connolly v McManus.

On their day, They are two of the best forward players in the country capable of winning games for their county on their own. A pleasure to witness these two guys play ball.

But, who would you guys rather play in your side. An in form, fit and flyin Diarmuid Connolly, Or an in form fit and flyin Conor McManus.

The two best forwards in the country for me and if I had to choose one I'd go for Connolly.

TheMaster (Mayo) picks McManus all day long.

I would like to see McManus line out in this Dublin team before making a call.

Its hard to say Connolly is absolutely magnificent but he is surrounded by waves of All-Stars whereas McManus is a one-man band for the most part which has come to Monaghan's expense in recent years in Croke Park as it's a lot easier for opponents to stop 1 superstar than 15+ at the same time.

I'd give the vote to McManus but I'd certainly love to have either of them

Imagine both!!
Connolly picking out mc manus.

I think these kind of polls are very hypothetical and you have to consider the team your putting him into and the opposition your playing

Louth, could do with Connolly as he is better all round whereas Tyrone, Mayo would take mc manus. (In my opinion)
In not comparing Louth with them two btw lol

To summarise Connolly makes an average team very good. Mc manus makes a very good team top class.

Lol Wayne
I think you misunderstood me.
Taking Louth as an average team, put Connolly into it and they are very good.
Taking Mayo and Tyrone as very good teams at the minute, put mc manus in and they are top class.
It was nothing to do with Dublin's or Monaghan's currently.

McManus stands out more because he doesn't have the same support as Connolly has. However a lot of McManus' space and time on the ball comes from the fear defenders have of going near him because he throws himself to the ground at the slightest touch and no ref has copped onto him yet.

Have you a few video links to that
It's not something I would have noticed in him and I've seen him a few times.
Please don't just say 'watch him the next time'.

It's extremely difficult to compare players because of the differences in quality and make-up of the teams they play in. They are both excellent players but, for me, it has to be McManus because of his temperament and the fact that he is so dangerous despite not having the array of talent supporting him that Connolly has. As an aside, I'm sure that Connolly would love a season where he was out of the headlines and allowed to enjoy his football.

Two great players but two different types of players. If i was to compare McManus to anyone on the Dublin team it would be Bernard Brogan.

Having said that I would pick McManus for Fermanagh at the minute over Connolly.

He does what!! Lol. I said it before on here and I've not been the only one,Mc Manus certainly knows how to buy a free as well as anyone playing today. Which is ok in the grand scheme of things because the opposition player does have to be "selling it" to him in the first place. Still a great player and as Monaghans primary free taker he gets to register more on the scoreboard. Their different players though too so it depends what you want for your team,Conor is an out and out forward whereas Diarmuid can score, and be a playmaker and more all round contributor.

McManus all day long. If he was on a team that could even make an All-Ireland final he'd have player of the year in the bag, more influence tan any other player has on a team. More than O'shea for Mayo or Murphy for Donegal

In the 2015 and 2013 quarter-finals McManus scored 2 points from play in both. I think if he's to be compared with Connolly he needs to be scoring more from play in those matches.
