Every shot is examined by hawkeye. If a bad call is made by the umpire or ref, the hawkeye officials immediately informs the ref that hawkeye is required and the ref does same. Therefore no need for team management to request a review of an incident.

No del torcaill is right . If a wrong decision is made by officials hawkeye intervenes to correct it . So basically when working correctly we can safely say every score or wide is 100%

Every shot is monitored and it can and is called by the official upstairs. Originally not set up to operate that way, but that is how it operates now. (linesman never had an input)

Personally I'm a big fan of it

The Leinster final involving Dublin v Galway... it proved hugely successful

Dublin were on the receiving end of some dodgy calls until Hawkeye stepped in

It really did prove it's worth that day

so if they already know , what's the point of going through the charade of the umpire signalling to the ref to invoke Hawkeye. more to the point what is point of umpires when Hawkeye is in operation. The scoreboard can just show when I point has been scored.

If Hawkeyes fails during a game obviously we need umpires then. Also it doesn't decide 65s or goals hence the requirement

Also takes about 30 secs to get decision meant lot of wasted time n high scoring hurling game . It was a system brought in to help and try eradicate errors which it is doing to be fair at all levels involving points only . So Saturday's debacle had nothing to do with Hawkeye and it was working during the game itself so all calls on so called points or wides where then correct. Problem sat was a score got recorded to the wrong team by scoreboard operator or official which Hawkeye can't account for.
