It would be great to have Adrian varley in as sub , they need to keep Damien comer in the edge of the square for a goal or 2

Not sure how this will pan out. Mayo need to be looking to peak later and preps will have been geared accordingly. KW on the other hand has Connacht firmly in his sights and whatever Galway have within them, today will be the day to show it. While everyone knows that Galway have more than a couple of talented players who won't commit to the county until the guys who are willing to put in the work right now show them a winning future, the lads who are in today are a committed bunch, and if Mayo don't match them for that this game will be no cakewalk. Not sure how Mayo will approach this tactically but Conor O'Shea won't be in the corner if he starts at all. The FB line has loads of pace, but not much height and, while KK is strong and good in the air, selecting him at FB still has a makeshift look about it. I still believe Mayo will win, mainly because the middle 8 are strong in every aspect, plus anyone having a bad game can be brought ashore for a seasoned replacement. If Cillian and Evan get enough ball, and AOS is in the right mood in the right part of the pitch, then it might be comfortable enough. If Galway can produce a good start and bolster their confidence, they have enough good players to make a game of it and more. One day Galway will get a win in this fixture, let's hope it's not today! Safe traveling to all.

Looking forward to see how Mayo play this evening. I'm expecting them to seriously overpower Galway, we'll see soon enough!

Galway definitely have a tougher spine under Walsh. Their half backs were very disciplined in their tackling for most of the first half, helped by a tendency by Mayo to run into tackles. Nonetheless, Mayo have gotten on top of the Galway kickouts on the last ten minutes and have a lead they scarcely deserve. Will be a rip roaring second half.

So much for Connacht being uncompetitive...

Poor enough first 30 minutes, until Mayo finally came to life. In fairness Mayo hit a lot of wides early on, showing they were getting the chances, just not hitting them.

Rachel is quality though

Ok it's a terrible game but conditions are brutal but that Cillian O Conor point from his hands at the 50 was outrageous that's the greatest free from hands on a wet night I've ever seen well done sir. How is Colm Boyle still on the field? That's a black card all year long were is the consistency ? Why isn't Diarmud O Conor playing? The brightest Mayo player I've seen in years is a sub wtf like he's way ahead of Doherty or McLoughlin

Gleebo Galway are in this because Mayo are sluggish, no other reason. Wide after wide. I'm actually happy they are not at the races. All I want is a win. Both O Se's playing dreadful, same for Doherty and Regan.

That Mayo keeper is a class act. That is two major championship games he has cost his team now due to poor kickouts

This has turned into a quality game, edge of the seat stuff here.
Really expect Mayo to steal this here, but Galway hanging on strongly here.

Good enough for them, dreadful bar a few. Changes needed starting with the keeper. Both O Se's dreadful, Parsons dreadful, Doherty brutal. So many passengers.

Delighted for Galway, well deserved win and long overdue win against Mayo.

Mayo hit an awful lot of wides in this game, could be that they learn the Qualifiers is the path to an All Ireland for Mayo, the team to be avoided in the Qualifiers.
