Then why have Ciaran Kilkenny + Cormac Costello (Dublin posters feel free to give other examples) picked football and not hurling. It's no secret the Dublin hurling panel has been adversely affected by defections to the football setup.

It will take more than 1 win at minor to change that. The Dublin football team is an extremely attractive prospect for any player in terms of individual profile and opportunity to play on a big stage and win lots of trophies. Clare Limerick + Waterford have all done very well at underage level in the last 5 years or so at national level and it still has yet to translate at senior bar a thrilling Clare success in 2013 which I think came before even they expected it t happen.

Did Kildare not receive a bailout in the region of a 7 figure sum a few seasons back from the GAA, to help cover the massive debt ran up by the Kieran McGeeney era?

It was a payment for the center of excellence which Kildare funded themselves and are which clubs are still paying off annually. The bailout was a fraction of what Kildare GAA have put into it. Nothing to do with McGeeney.

Fair enough there wasn't much in Dara article but my point was Kerry current and ex-players in general making excuses over games they lost over the years. Sometimes the better team wins.

Here's a snippet from Quirke's article:

"It was a humbling day to be a Kerry player or supporter. Dublin did to us what we have done to so many down the years. We had hoped to see proof of what we were thinking… that we were getting closer to knocking them off their pedestal, but these Dubs are the real deal. They don't care about Kerry. They're too busy chasing history and silverware."

Real cute hoor Kerryman alright.
Current Dublin and Kerry players are (in the main) decent honest men. And very good footballers to boot.
