Derry vs Tyrone

Tyrone over hyped..? Tyrone defensively Weak..? Would take a brave man to bet on this one..? Really..?

No real surprises here for me. Some nice Scores in really bad conditions though but I can see more Tyrone goals 2nd half.

Poor Derry support for a Home game. Cant see much change for 2nd half but would be nice to see Derry make a game of it.

Replying To MesAmis:  "Derry are playing atrociously bad. Walking the ball into Tyrone players and just handing possession away time and time again.

Tyrone barely outta 1st gear and already 9 points up.

Big improvement needed from Derry if they're to keep the final margin below 15 points"
Couldnt ask for a better first half.

Just hope Derry decide to play for a bit of pride and not decide to go down into the mire if the game seems beyond them.

Tyrone sending out a statement here. On s side note have the Sunday game done away with studio analysis? Looking very unprofessional standing in the rain with no studio.

Tyrone being wastefull here. Dryer conditions seem to suit Derry more..some nice long scores from Derry also.

Expected result.

Can't judge Tyrone til they come up against a Monaghan or Donegal in Ulster. Or outside of that, Dublin, Kerry or Mayo in the AI series.

A and B championship needed. Fair amount of teams in B as well.

Tyrone are a quality outfit. They have been rebuilding for a few years and their Under 21 players are starting to come through to the senior ranks. They don't just solely defend in numbers anymore, they attack in packs as well. I think they are one of the few teams who could actually give Dublin a competitive game. I am not saying they would beat them but Tyrone will have the belief to do so and it would be a fascinating match.

I dont want to tell you this but they were employing a blanket defence there today...

"Got milk" Fermanagh - i watched Fermanagh v Antrim and against a 4th tier team that's exactly what you did - difference with this Tyrone team is their counterattack at speed. No doubt the Tyrone team would like to have a go at Fermanagh but doubt you will NOT get past next round.

No milk..you dont score 3-14 employing a blanket defence..they defended well but also attacked at pace in numbers and moved the ball quick look at their 1st goal.theres a big difference in defending well and going all out with the blanket..but you seem to like the idea of blanket defences so good for you..lets see how well them teams do this year..

Sweet Christ you either didn't watch the game or you don't understand what the 'blanket defence' is. Tyrone had all their own players in their own half at stages. Is that not mass defending? They defended with purpose today and attacked with purpose. Just because you rack up a high score, it doesn't mean you don't employ a blanket defence.

just because a team racks up a big score doesn't mean they don't use the blanket. where have you been for the last few years? your own county use it perfectly every game they play! teams who are new to it or use it badly look terrible but the teams that strike a good balance between blanket defending and breaking forward in numbers can be lethal. that has been the key to all the top teams success over the last number of years. are you new to the GAA or something?

Listen folks, the reality is my proud footballing county of Derry is a very average team, we conceded an average of 1-18 over the league campaign. Our form going into this match was nothing short of awful, you cannot gage how good or bad Tyrone are after today, they over ran Derry, won their individual battles and put the scores on the board. We on the other hand had no game plan and no Derry player showed the willingness to grab the game by the scruff of the neck and push the players around him on.

it hurts me to say this 'the Derry Jersey has lost its respect within the county'.

Tyrone were immense today especially in the first half . The game was done and dusted by half time.
Very impressive showing and showing why they are many people's tip for Ulster
