Sam couldn't be in a better place?

You've obviously never driven Slea head on a day like this Cue, nor walked the Maherees or Banna!

There's a far better place it could be!!

Hope against hope it might be again come September....

Yes im am saying that nothing went right for dublin and it was a bad day..yes other than a few long range points from flynn and connolly in the 1st quarter nothing went right..my point is no one gives 2 flutes about a 20odd minute spell in a match if your team comes out on the wrong end of the scoreboard..your saying plenty went right .im saying it didnt..if plenty went right to you means a few long range points then so be it..its like a 2nd placed horse no cares that plenty went right went he jumped the 1st few fences well

Hermit, is that cafe at the top of slea head after the statue of our lord on the cross, is that still closed or will it reopen this season?
Was all closed up all last summer?
Big white one with a few parking spaces out front, has a gift shop attached.

You seem to be ignoring what I'm saying and plowing ahead with your own ill-informed narrative. Go back and watch the match and you'll have a better understanding of it.

I suppose talking about that game in 2014,You could say nothing went right that day from Dublin, fair enough a few nice early long range points but the telling blow in that first half was Dublin failed to take their goal chances. Now on another day those would have gone in. Different game.
Over the first 15 minutes or so I could not have seen Donegal winning.
But after that they were getting through Dublin fairly easily and won well enough.
Now it was one of those days when nothing was going to change the game. Did not matter what bench you had or who came on as a sub the game was always running away from Dublin.
Now J McGuinness was probably one of the few who saw how open Dublin were or could be defensively at that time so must say he had his homework done. Plus after Donegal's display v Armagh (QFinal) and I suppose Dublin did not see any big danger. What it did show was don't go by the last day-- it's what will happen or can happen on the day alone.

Because the extent of your analysis appears to be 'Everything went wrong for Dublin, everything went right for Donegal', which is completely wide of the mark. You would probably enjoy matches more if you understood what went on better.

The old 'Roy Curtis' line from the Dubs about the Donegal game in 2014.. 'Nothing went right, if we had taken our chances for goals we would have won easily'... Etc, Etc. Donegal held steady through a rough early patch in that game and ripped Dubin wide open after that. As for playing our best match in years, I don't agree. I was there that day, we were extremely good but Dublin were tactically naive. We just had the gameplan and courage to go for the jugular unlike most others. I feel we were better against Cork in 2012

Was there and all Donegal abroad and was in Croker at all Donegal games 2011/2012/2013/2014 and indeed last year.
As you say V Cork was some game , I thought we played brilliant, I can still see Colm Antony strike that ball just after half time --- what a point it was. And to be fair to Cork they played their part and all but it was a good display by Donegal.
What I do remember about 2014w was early on and the Dubs singing ---- WE ARE THE BOYS IN BLUE.
Second half and the Donegal fans singing--- WHERE ARE THE BOYS IN BLUE. Could be a while again before anyone gets a chance to start signing that at the Dubs.

Totally agree Bert, Sam the only difference between Meath and Donegal chances is we actually know we wont beat dubs,
I was looking at the betting markets for Sam and they are as follows for any team from province to win it.
Leinster 1/2
Munster 3/1
Connaught 4/1
Ulster 9/2
This is any county in their province, its a uphill battle for anyone

Both you and Bert are talking silly as neither you or your buddy or any of the rest of us have a clue what will happen over the next 30 years.
look back at the last 30 years --- from 1986.
Kerry won Sam that year but it rook them 11 years ( I think) to win another Nobody would have believed that in 1986.
Then look at your own county , I was at a Leinster final where Dublin hammered them. I am nearly certain P Lyons missed a penalty that day. But around 3 years after they were AI champs and were at the top for quite a few years.
Also in 1986 neither Armagh Derry Tyrone or Donegal had an All Ireland. Donegal had not even reached a final at that stage.
They way you two think IMO is what is wrong with Leinster football over the last few years. When ye play Dublin , beat before you leave the dressing room.
Take Mayo now In my book a very good team, more or less as good as Kerry Donegal Dublin ( results in 2012/2013 and again last year against Dublin show hey are not far behind) but they just did not get the rub of the green as they lost games they should have won
To me the AI is far from a one horse race , Dublin may well win it , they need to in my book as for all the talk about them they have not YET reached TWO FINALS in a row nor have they just yet won two in a row.
But please leave the worrying about Donegal to the management, ourselves, the supporters on what we will win over the next 30 years and think about the need to get your own house in order first.
IMO ye have learned nothing from 2014.

Cue you know as well as I do that Machiavelli is required reading for all Dublin development squads, how else would Phily MacMahon have learnt the dark arts ;)

Is that the same Machiavelli that played wing back for Clare in the seventies, or is it the brother?

Sam fair play to Donegal and in particular McGuinness who imho won the all ire with the most limited players to win a all ire, so that is some achievement, but it wont happen again in the near future, as 9/10 the team with the best players win Sam, this year that is Dublin or at very least the panel who would be rated in top 3/4 win it, and number 2 is mayo followed by Kerry, then another gap to the likes of Tyrone Donegal Monaghan Roscommon, who could spring a shock but haven't a hope of winning it outright, then the rest who are making up the numbers, I hate to burst your bubble but Donegal definitely will not win all ire nor unfortunately will Meath, we know where we are and what we have to do, (install Andy McEntee asap) but you seem to be living in a candyland of green and gold where Donegal are world beaters, you are not and as year progresses this will be shown that Donegal are also rans like the rest of us.

What a load of guff Royal Dunne! Durcan, the McGees, McGlynn, Toye, Gallagher, Murphy, Lacey, McBrearty et al. are far from average players. Colm McFadden also played the football of his life in 2012 and was also far from average.
