Mayo v Galway
Its always interesting when the two most successful counties in the west face each other. It is always a fixture I look forward too.I have a soft spot for Galway as I stayed there for a while.Every year its always Mayo's year or it's their last chance it seems.I think some have been a little harsh on them though. They gave the last two All-Ireland champs their toughest game in the last two years. They are fairly strong and mobile all over the park and I think this team does have the belief, were Mayo teams in the past may not have.Galway are trying to build and have a lot of new players,I think they will get there, but it will take time.I see Mayo winning this, but may also see an encouraging Galway display.
Mayo

Cavan v Tyrone
Cavan had a great league campaign and have opened up.They have real potential, and at last are using their forwards to good effect.Tyrone are Tyrone and they have improved from last year imo. They are well drilled and are the most street-wise team in the country thanks to the great Mickey Harte.Cavan will push them and will try and get a fast start.Potential to be a great game,I fancy the street-wise and more developed Tyrone to get through.
Tyrone

Laois v Armagh
Laois caused some problems to Dublin in the last round, but ultimately were well beaten.Armagh were poor against Cavan in my view, but will be out to prove some wrong. Both teams were relegated from the league and a defeat here would be a huge disappointment for both teams.Laois are home, but I fancy Armagh to do enough.
Armagh

Derry v Louth
Derry were very poor against Tyrone, but they have had a great deal of time to get over that and give this a good lash.Louth were outclassed against Meath, but had good spirit about them. They have mobility and if they run at Derry and are over the Meath game,a Louth win is not out of the question here.A good Louth start is a must here, they may feel Derry are rusty.Derry will either win this well or lose.
Louth

Carlow v Wicklow
Carlow scored 3-11 against Louth,if they manage to get a similar score they may well win this game.Wicklow don't have the forward power that Louth have so this is a tricky one to call.Wicklow performed well in the championship last year, but they were beaten easily by Laois. This is a close call.Wicklow without any real confidence...
Wicklow

Leitrim v Waterford
Both sides will feel they can win this game. Both beaten easily by Roscommon and Tipperary in the last round. But Leitrim are home and have Emmylon Mulligan...

Bad weekend for mise last weekend. Not only did I lose my 100 per cent record, I only got three out of six matches right. So no time to rest on my laurels. Here is my predictions for this weekend:

Laois
Carlow
Louth
Mayo
Leitrim
Tyrone

I predict in the qualifiers every Leinster team not meeting a fellow Leinster side go out and not just in this round
It'll be interesting see a bold prediction I know but the way the groups are split this year they may struggle.

Westmeath/Offaly could have went either way.I changed my mind about 10 times on that one and eventually got it wrong!
