I doubt Mullane was complaining about the very same ref after Waterford's quarter final win in 09 in Thurles.
Mind you I agree with him for once, I think Kirwan should retire from reffing.I thought he was poor yesterday.
That said I think Clare deserved to win and had the better hurlers.

Davy certainly does himself no favours with his carry on, but whether its TG4 or RTE they seem to have a camera focused on him throughout game

As a neutral watching yesterdays hurling final i think its
sour grapes by Mullane blaming the ref for their loss.
Clare kept playing to the final whistle Waterford were ahead
on a couple of occasions by 7 points they failed to put Clare
away the game is not over until the fat lady sings when the
game had to be won Kelly the man for the big occasion granbbed
the bull by the horns and got them over the line Waterford dont
have a player like him Waterford not good enough lacking a real leader

Not good enough regarding Davy Fitz and Austin Gleeson. A foul mouthed tirade was not warranted and he should be charged by the GAA. If they dare. They seem intimidated by Clare.
A poor example to other coaches and mentors in my opinion.

He's always at it. Mouthing off on the sideline. I heard him roar at Ryan O'Dwyer a few years back (I was sat right behind him in Parnell Park) that if he was any good he'd be playing for Tipp. There was also that video of him doing the rounds a few years ago where it's tagged 'you don't need to be an expert in lip reading to know what Davy called him' where he called McCrabbe a word I won't use here. All this coming from a man that has recently spoken out about being bullied?! Have no time for him. Clare are a fine bunch of hurlers, Kelly in particular is a joy to watch but he'd turn you off wanting to see them do well.

Up and down the length and breath of Dublin there are Davey Fitz types be surprised if it's any different elsewhere ,Honestly doesn't bother me , he's over the top bordering on a pantomine villan at times , but I'd rather try shutting him up on the pitch than trying to get him banned , People read far too much into coaches on the sideline , Christ J Gavin has been slagged off for being boring , damned if you do .

Davy's antics along the sideline are a magnet for the cameras and the criticisms by the media and HS posters. Some posters claim that he disgrace an excellent team, but fail to give him the credit he deserves for de eloping that team. He is obviously an outstanding coach but needs to tone down his language on the line. However he seems to be an open, honest character unlike some other managers who favour snide comments to have a 'go' at refs and the achievements of their opponents
