Tyrone and RTE

Harte can treat rte how he wants after what they did, I can't imagine what he has gone through and if he doesn't want to forgive rte regardless of an apology that's his right and who are we to judge him for it. The players support him and should continue to do so

So Royaldunne you are saying that most people in the republic have no problem with paying higher taxes to take care of people who come to the state by way of EU open borders policy, refugees from all over in fact, but they'd have a big problem if that money were directed toward reunification efforts with fellow countrymen in the north? How can you or others justify this outlook?Respect to your grandfather for his efforts, his efforts are certainly respected by me and many others. I don't mean you in particular but it is a disgrace the way many people in today's society in the republic actually dishonor our forefathers with this attitude. It's shameful to be honest.

As stated no one is stopping the Tyrone players from talking to rte...... They have made that decision themselves. Also it took Rte and Murray 3 days to apologise.......that is a worthless apology in my book. It was a horrible "sketch" and I just hope it does not happen to any other person or there family.

@topdownfan - If you'd heard the RTE broadcast in question at the time, you wouldn't have posted such stupid comments. It managed to combine being snide and in extreme bad taste. On top of that, RTE then decided that their belated 'apology' had been accepted by Mickey Harte when that clearly was not the case. And you wonder why he won't speak to RTE?!

The father/ daughter combination of topdownfan and Missdownfanatic attacking Tyrone again- it's painful. Can they not post about their own county? Then again....

It's up to Mickey Harte whether he wants to talk to RTÉ or not. He's entirely within his rights to refuse to talk to them in my opinion after that stupidly awful sketch.

His players are standing by him in this and fair play to them.

I remember Des Cahill make a remark on the Sunday Game one night about the fact that Tyrone weren't talking to RTÉ. He should have known better in my opinion.

I fully support Harte and the Tyrone players in their stance and cannot for the life of me understand those that don't.

We have to remember that this just does not effect Micky Harte, it effects the whole Harte family and friends as well as all Tyrone Gaels. I am absolutely gobsmacked by the views of a few Down supporters......need I remind them that Michaela married John McAreavey, down gaa player and captain of a down gaa club. I just can't get my head around that. When this brutal murder happened I remember the outpouring of sympathy from all corners of the GAA community and especially in Co Down. I just can't get my head around some people's viewpoint on this.

Is it a case of who is refusing to talk to who?

I know that initially it was Mickey Harte, for very correct reasons, who snubbed interviews to the RTE.
Who is to say that the RTE have a policy of avoiding him now because it would draw bad press towards them, or for legal reasons?

In any event, did Mickey Harte not do interviews with the RTE this year in the league?

Yeah bumper - not sure if you remember a few years back Spotlight or some of those programmes got 3 different 'experts' in 3 fields to look at the pros and cons of a United Ireland and then each one to say whether or not overall Yes or No based on their findings - one of the experts was looking at it from an Economical point. Can't remember the complete outcome of it but as far as I remember 2 of the 3 experts came to the conclusion that a United Ireland made most sense - one of which was from an Economical point and a one Island economy. But sure we are in the decade of Revisionism...... ;-)
