Top 8/9 Goal Finishers

Brogan
Connolly
Mannion
McMenamin
Costello
COC
JOD
CON
McManus

They arent called the Blue Juggernaut for no reason, if anyone tries to tell you that Dublin aren't overwhelming favourites to win everything his year just show them that list which doesnt even include the likes of Andrews Flynn Kilkenny O'Callaghan etc

I agree that in most people's eyes we will be favourites but and this is a big but in imo. When you consider we are attempting back to back AIs and we have lost two of the best players in the country in their positions I would not for one minute presume anything.
You see , when you take two guys of that callibre out of any team no matter how good they are it is a massive loss. So ,forwards we may have but the problem may not be in that department as you may well know yourself.
Genuinely , I think we will find it extremely hard to win the AI this year and I personally would go with Kerry as my favourites followed by Mayo.

From Cork John Fitzgibbon was an out and out goal scorer. John O'Driscoll was also a great goal scorer. Today Colm O'Neill and Seamus Harnedy. Seamie Callanan is fine goal scorer along with TJ Reid, Joe Canning. Eddie Brennan was probably one of the finest.

Dublin and Kerry have the best scoring forwards in the country by a country mile.
No coincidence that they are contesting more finals than most.

Dubh linn.

Every team bar Dublin only has 1 goal scoring forward and it's a lot of easier to put the shackles on 1 player than it is to 4/5 players who will also get better quality of goal chances with Flynn Kilkenny Connolly etc supplying them (who are well capable of scoring goals themselves if they find themselves in a position to get one)

Dublin has so much more attacking firepower than anyone else I dont see the losses of ROC and Jack Mc that it would have on the Kerry Mayo or Donegal teams. In fact the 2 players who replace them will be extremely hungry to perform and will help to keep the rest on their toes and fight against complacency which is Dublin's biggest enemy this year.

I think Kerry have definetly got more than one goal scoring forward available wi Gooch, Osullivan and JOD to name the obvious.
My point was though that it's not the forwards that could be the problem but the backs as both of the guys mentioned are not easily replaced no matter how many you have on the sideline. They may well grow into fine full back and h/backs but that doesn't come as a guarantee.
I just think Kerry are in the best position to kick on and win AI this year of all the other contenders. Hopefully I'm wrong ;-)

The problem for us this year may be preventing those goal scoring forwards numerous opportunities. Dublin didnt take their chances in the final last year so we need to sharpen up in our full back line to prevent the same happening again later in the year.

In regards to goal scoring forwards I think JOD has a very good ratio of goals to games..dont have any stats or anything but seems like he scores a goal fairly regular. Best at the moment would probably be B.Brogan and lets hope K.Mcmenamen can take a year off this time and focus on his point scoring.

Take the points and the goals will come Kevin.
