Dublin V Kerry NFL Final

Dubh_Linn: free stats for and against a team in League and Championship matches are easily come by.

When they are consistently showing a team is being awarded far less frees than their opposition I think it points to something.

Could that possibly be that the team in question foul more as the statistics would also suggest if you care to see them that way

Statistics are painting by numbers. The problem with the end product is the picture is smudged.

Fair play Master , am I the only one who can't see Kerry getting near us? Apart from Darren O Sullivan no one else scares me on this Kerry team (obviously Jod when he's back) I think we're lethal in league football cause there's less pressure so we just go out and do our thing and if it's a sunny day dry ball we will run amok, trust me Kerry are very worried about not getting a hiding more than anything.

Ah but then again Copper, Mayo managed to get (what's his name?) free to play in the Semi-final replay in 2014 when he should have been banned.

that's a different argument really don't get me started on the cccc or whatever its called who ever gets banned? keegan should never have got a red for that imo compare the incident with j coopers kung fu in semi last year and tell me that isn't a joke? I heard eddie Kinsella is the ref

Statistics are like the mini-skirt : They show a lot,but crucially, they hide the vital parts.

Dublin have never given Kerry 'a hiding' Clondalkin.

Your hubris will be your downfall.

I'll remind you of it when the time comes ;)

Upper Cusack 709 row A, pretty decent tickets me thinks for the family, hopefully good games and show afterwards! See Eddie Kinsella is the ref, think he did the Donegal-Kerry game, if so, I hope he does a better job this time as he made a bags of that one in my opinion. Anyone know anything about Ciaran Branagan (Down) who's the ref for the Cavan-Tyrone game?

We've hammered you loads in league games over the last few years. Poster say this to me all the time "oh you'll regret saying that" and I never do cause I'm always 99% right with this Dublin it's the best Dublin team we've ever had and I believe we're way ahead of this Kerry team right now especially without your best player.

Good seats location wise but i hope you're not tall :) Very little leg room between the seat and the wall from what I remember.

Statistics say Dublin beat Kerry by a mere goal last year while even the most biased Kerry man/woman would admit Dublin beat Kerry a whole lot more comprehensively than the scoreline suggests.Hermit ya divil ya,it was as close to a three point hammering as i've ever witnessed (:

Yes a three point 'hammering' I'm sure that's how history will record it.

It's easy to outplay a team that never showed up last September.

And if Killian hadn't dropped that ball, we would still have snatched it off ye.

An inconvenient truth for the Dubs I suppose...

Don't worry that defeat will be avenged before the summer is out.

Kerry: sometimes beaten, never unbowed.

The Kingdom will prevail yet.

I think Dublin will be league champions, after a tough hard game. Too many oldies on Kerry team, where is all their young talent?

Longridge, its all about patience.

Give the youth a chance to develop first, the country will see what they're capable of before too long. Starting with our U-21's next year.

The old guard are still doing the business.

Agree with your post re refs damo. Unfortunately in recent times we have managers, pundits and fans all up in arms demanding 'consistency' in referring (apeing the trend from soccer). Now the only way that can happen is by ruling to the letter of the law so that is what referees have been instructed to do. I completely disagree with this approach and agree it ruins matches. In soccer it works better because it is less physical in nature but in GAA and other sports like rugby, referees need to be able to use common sense and assess the situation. Unfortunately if that happens in GAA managers and pundits throw their toys out of the trolloy and the ref does not get another game. They want tobots and then give out they are robots.

Also having seen the verbal and physical abuse given to referees at club games, I cant see how any young person would take it up.

That old Chestnut Kerry are too old, well some of our older players have been our best this year so far. Alan Brogan is a great example and he probably could have gone on for another year or two.
Dublin are the best football team in Ireland and there's no doubt about that it's up-to the rest to catch up.
We where flattered last year in the final and that's fair to say.
I think though that we are in better shape this year and we should give Dublin a rattle in 2 weeks.
This is Dublins time and we are working on catching them.

Nothing inconvenient about that buddy!
