Dublin V Kerry NFL Final

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

With the GAAs wanton neglect of the AI series and more and more attractive games coming from the league, it's fast becoming the premier competition in the GAA calendar.
This is a competition to be won make no mistake - Dublin know it. Kerry know it. You won't see the Gooch playing as a defender in this final ;)

for whom?
I for one couldn't really care as long as we aren't relegated or beat out the gate, id say that only the Dublin fans feel this way as they get to see fairly competitive games regularly as the next decent game for the dubs will be 1/4 final or maybe semi, there is a reason there might be 6 or 7 thousand at a Kerry cork league game and 30+ in championship

judging by the ticket sales yesterday it seems a lot of people do care about this final.
looks set to break the 60 thousand attendance from dublin v donegal league final in 1993 at this stage.
largest ever league final attendance is 70 thousand from dublin v down in 1964.

Cusack Stand Lower is already sold out, just tried to buy 1 x adult and 1 x child for a friend and it said there was insufficient seats for my request. Went back in and Cusack Stand Lower has now disappeared from the 'location' options.

I'm heading in to this one myself.First football game i'll be attending in quite a while.Bad news about the Cusack Stand. The last thing i want is a bodhran stuck in my ear for 70 mins on the hill.My ears are too delicate for that.Nice Hogan or Canal will suffice.

She went for the Davin, can get the €5 kids tickets there too. Not paying €35 for a ticket for a 6 year old in the Hogan.

I always forget the Season ticket covers all league games in that code but does it definitely cover the league finals?

heres the question to Kerry lads will you guys bother to travel ?

Would Dublin fans travel to Killarney if the game was there? Dont think so especially if they knew they would had to make that journey another 4/5 times in the same year.

I would travel to Mars for a league final , forget its Dublin , does who you are playing make a difference ?
Your answer is why most neutrals wanted Roscommon to win , like some in my own county your spoilt on success , but finance I suppose is finance and you may well have to make those journeys so hold onto your pennies , someone is definetly buying tickets

Ah I'm sorted myself, i have a season ticket (which is why i should know all this!), and my friend has bought hers now, but good thing to remember for future leagues. Thanks!

Yerra, I really don't think it enters too many Dublin supporters heads just how long of a journey it is from Kerry nor how expensive a day out like this can be for Kerry fans, especially if you have a young family to be taking.

Still I reckon they'll be plenty of us at it, its been 7 years since our last League final. The chance to see Kerry give the Dubs a potential bloody nose might also ensure a decent Kerry crowd.

But I think I'll be leaving before that Bloody Riverdance thing comes on.

Some way for our largest cultural organization to celebrate the centenary of the defining moment of Modern Irish History,

Many tickets being bought by those who wanna see Laochra after the Division 1 final. Pat Kenny giving away package deals including premium tickets and the lie-down in Jurys. GAA are billing it as an event on after two football matches rather than two great games of football followed by some entertainment. Will many football supporters stick around for it ?

not this auld rubbish again about numbers travelling to games etc, as a kerryman living in Dublin(and getting Dublin wages) I find it very easy to go to croker I could easily go there every week for games and often do in the summer, people up here don't realise what an absolute ordeal it is to head up from Kerry for a match both time wise and financially. we will proportionally match the dubs anyway if we only bring 4 or 5k.

I'll definitely stick around for the show. Hope it's as much of a spectacle as they're making it out to be though. Either way, you're already there and getting an extra bit of entertainment for your €ss, why not. Weather could play a part in the crowd that stays behind. If you've been drenched you might not be too keen to hang about.

I stood in the one spot on O Connell Bridge on Easter Sunday from 9am to 1pm and enjoyed the Easter Rising Commemorations. If,as Hermit said, the post game entertainment will be riverdance with hurleys,i'll be in the Bridge Tavern,Ballybough before the first dancer gets toe-tapping and heel-clogging.
Dublin v Kerry is going to be a cracker, and the Div 2 final has a nice look about it.Fast improving Cavan v consistent heavyweights,Tyrone.35e is decent value for Hogan Stand to sit and enjoy two and half hours high standard football.
