Dublin V Kerry NFL Final

It's virtually impossible in seeing this Dublin side losing this year .

I think even of we were at our best - we might last 60 but in the end they will find a way .

Brilliant side .

Ive said it here previously that Dublin wont lose a game this year and will continue to win at a canter.

They won an all ireland last year without having to go full belt, they have lost one of the best full backs in the game and in my opinion the best footballer in the country in Jack Mc affrey and it has made little difference.

And the reff gave the dubs everything AGAIN some joke having joe mcquillan doing sideline again today and giving Dublin soft decisions , am I right in saying joe macquillan has been involved in every victory the dubs have had over us in the last 5 years?

From the Kerry page. So THIS is why Kerry lost, it's all down to McQuillan! :)

Kerry showed flashes of brilliance in the first half, Gooch linking up with O'Sullivan, some nice diagonal passing etc. but they have passengers in some of those older fellas. Gooch is perhaps ok for 35 but, as I suspected, once Philly started his roving runs Gooch couldn't track him. Donaghy is a liability now. He doesn't have the engine for midfield and destroys Kerry's footballing ethos when moved into the square where he is generally second to every ball anyway. Sheehan is also gone. Fenton lorded it in the middle yesterday. They've a big discipline problem as well which isn't helping their cause either. Fitzmaurice needs to give the younger fellas a run and let there be a real changing of the guard. Good win for the Dubs although a few dodgy performaces there too. Philly had an off day and Connolly and Flynner never got going. Still Kilkenny was immense again and Bernard rolled the clock back. Nice to do he 4 in a row. The drive for five starts now.

Look Dublin are marvelous, and all this bs by other counties outside Leinster that its so predictable is just that, bs , Dublin would steam roll any province they are that good.
Yes they get 1.4m from sports grants and the likes of Donegal get 40k (I use Donegal as they recent ai winners) yes they play every game virtually in hq , they have hundreds of full time staff and free everything, so yes they have every advantage over every other county and the gap is widening, that been said they have the players. So credit where credit is due.

Have to say I thought Kerry would be closer and have a bit more about them to put it up to the Dubs.
While they kicked some good scores they just looked like they were all out of ideas and an ordinary team really is the only thing you could call them. They can also be very cynical and showed this again yesterday when the Dubs were getting on top and they tried to use the roughouse stuff that has worked against some sides in close games.Referees need to clamp down on this stuff early on to stop them when they try the Bully boy stuff and Kinsella was slow to act.
Kerry will improve over the summer alright but so will everyone else. EF looked all out of ideas too yesterday.Maybe the writing is on the wall.

A predictable result.
When the smoke has settled and the fanfare is gone, we will need to come to the realisation that we have just seen the two best teams in the country, and the result was an 11 point hammering. - This is a disaster for the game.

Catch 22

What is more amazing is that Kerry felt they were hard done by the ref . You couldnt make this stuff up .

They're obsessed with refereeing decisions .

I thought Kinsella pulled them up every time. Some of Kerry's tackling was cat especially in the first half. As for the penalty, that 'tackle' wouldn't have looked out of place in Thomond.

Well done to the Dubs. By far the better team. They are miles ahead of the rest. We need to go back to the drawing board. Our goalkeeper and ageing defence are a shambles when teams run at them. Its time to replace Marc and Aidan with younger players now. You cannot expect to stop the Dubs when you have 2 35 year olds in there. Donaghy' cannot last 70 mins either. The sending off and 1st goal were a huge blow but the Dubs were starting to get on top around that time anyway. I dont think it would have been an 11 point win but it would have been a win regardless.

@ Croigorm Have you nothing better to do besides being on the Kerry forum all the time? You do know that there is a Dublin forum on here as well?

Are you having a laugh?? The Dubs would have packed up and gone home at half time. You think ye could last 60 mins with them?

lobbing a high ball into the dublin back line was the most ridiclous tactic i have seen in a long time, listening to spillane too much. Dublin licked it up like a big bowl of ice cream
leaving donaghy on for the full 70 minutes when it was obvious he was burnt and tired was rediculous
not subbing the kerry goalkeeper mystified me
if kerry put as much effort into the game than the off the ball handbag rubbish it might have bettered them

kerrys blanket defence was a joke

tyrone appear to be a far better team even though kerry have the gooch

Good win if not a great performance from a Dublin point of view. Some played well, Kilkenny, McCarthy (as ever), O'Sullivan, and Brogan were all excellent. I thought Olaf's Byrne and Dean Rock had good games too. McMahon, Bastick and Paul Mannion were poor for me and will need to improve before summer comes. I wouldn't have Mannion starting on his performances to date come summer. Connolly and Flynn were okay but will need to improve also. The lads off the bench did well, especially Kev Mac.

As for Kerry, they seem to fade badly after putting it up to the Dubs for a large period of the game. The sending off didn't help but it must be a worry for Fitzmaurice, although it's only April. Dublin competed well enough with Kerry's midfield which was a major bonus for us.

Both teams have a lot to work on I think before summer. The likes of Mayo, Donegal and Tyrone won't be very far away from Dublin/Kerry judging by yesterday's displays.

To be honest i was watching the game yesterday waiting to see how much Dublin would win by.

I didnt at any stage expect kerry to win which says a lot. I ended up flicking between channels and flicking back to make sure my bet of Dublin -5 points was in line.

The GAA have created a monster thats going to dominate Football for years to come, but hey Croke Park is being filled on a regular basis and thats all that matters to the power that be.

Croigorm, Dublin have full time coaching staff in every club, true how is that exaggeration?? Its fact, also players get a free car , so please what other county footballer gets them advantages? As I said that all been said they are best I have ever seen.

Although the ref didn't influence the game at all yesterday....I agree with fitzmaurice about donaghy point..... And its not just donaghy, any big man that's put in around the edge of the square, Aidan o Shea too, is subjected too a carte Blanche style of defending with tackling that would be 100% punished out the field. A foul is a foul no matter what size ya are, ridiculous stuff altogether... I can understand how these guys get frustrated. Didn't happen too much yesterday but last years semi final between dubs and Mayo was probably the most obvious example I have ever seen. Aidan O'Shea catches it and as soon as he lands three lads in punching and pulling and he gets done for over carrying. Needs to be addressed IMO. And its not singling out the dubs.....happens in every game, just using that game as example
