Dublin V Kerry NFL Final

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

In the semi final v Kerry we produced our worst performance of the year, yet we still created 33 scoring opportunities and gave away goals that Dublin will not give away this Sunday. If the Dubs create the same amount of scoring opportunities which they are well capable of then i would expect Dublin to win this game/final by a bit to spare.

Went along the lines as i expected, the writing was on the wall for Kerry even in their 10 point win against us. Four in a row NFL titles for Dublin a fine achievement which hasn't been done since the 70s.

Dublin really put the hammer down from 60 mins on. Could watch them all day. clinical.

Kinsella was poor and refs who have controversy follow them around the way he does should not be reffing big matches. I believe he was in charge of the disaster between Kerry and Donegal. That alone should have ruled him out of this fixture.

Donaghy must have a few secrets on him. How he only got booked in 70th min. Should have blackcarded Darran O'Sullivan. Crowley, Enright lucky not to get second yellows.

1st off a good win for dublin although a bit sloppy at times.thought bastick and connolly didnt have a good day but sure we'll take the win anyway..secondly'were being told all week how pumped up for this game kerry where, they had some good spells today kicked some decent points but i just dont see them bringing any more to the table.kerry to me are an average team.when tiredness set in today they just reverted to their lump the ball into donaghy routine, which worked 10 years ago but not today..kerry people might say if o mahoney wasnt sent off it would be a different game..but deep down they know thats crap..o mahoneys 34 years of age with his best days long behind him..dublin werent at their best today but still served up a good whipping..lets hope if we meet in the semi final you might give us a better test than today....

Game lacked championship intensity. Dublin never looked like loosing and on s they get a goal the floodgates open. Frightening the talent they have.

Who do posters think could possibly halt Dublin winning Sam ?

Hey dubs what was the idea stealing our cheers from 01? Lol.
Anyway now you see what us in Leinster have to put up with. Kerry lads will try to fool themselves and say it was sending off, that's BS ,dubs were in cruise control.
As a Meath man it gives me no satisfaction to say that Dublin are the greatest team of all time and never mind the cute holism they may come out with, I will be astonished if they don't stroll to all Ireland this year. Come August or September they will be even better, its a case now of trying to stay within 10 points of them. Now some nordie sides might but that's cause they will not leave their own 45. But still Dublin will win, the gap between dubs and even second best teams is getting wider.

Or it could be that we in Ulster don't subscribe to the Leinster surrender monkey mindset so perfectly illustrated by yourself. In that case enjoy your prolonged summer holiday.

Similarities to 13, Dublin pull away with a few minutes to go.
Difference for me was scoring threat and we really missed JOD.
Dublin fully deserved their win but they won't stroll to anything and listening to some on here it's rather pathetic.
One point of interest and the Dubs around me agreed "what a big guy has to do to win a free?" Donaghy was consistently fouled.
Overall though the dubs deserved it and please god we will see each other in August.

Do you mean cute hoorism or cute hooliganism

Have to agree they are as good as I've seen. Only beat a "one man Monaghan team" by a point though, so the only hope is us Nordies.

Sending off meant the game was over earlier than it was meant to be, but Dublin still would have won by 5 or 6. Baffling watching Gooch playing so deep at times. The Dubs are the team to beat because of the 4 or 5 they have off the bench are not just a roll of the dice, they all make a big impact, no other team has that. Dublin a step ahead of Kerry, Mayo and the rest.

I think you meant 'Donaghy was consistently fouling'.

I'm tipping Dublin to win this fixture again. However, would a defeat for Dublin this Sunday actually be the worst thing to happen them? I think not!

Ultimately, it could be bad news for everyone else with a design on Sam later on the year, should Dublin be beaten this Sunday. While you might beat this Dublin side once in a year - the suspicion here thinks it highly unlikely this great team would be beaten twice in 2016.

On saying this, while Dublin could carry a defeat and push on after Sunday, I have my doubts that this Kerry team could. Particularly, if they get a very public hosing on Sunday - that my friends is a real possibility. Especially, if Dublin's approach shows less respect to Kerry than it did in a very cagey attitude last September. While the Kerry veterans with enormous mileage are showing tremendous form, I can't see it lasting through another August/September campaign, especially if they suffer another demoralising defeat at the hands of Dublin.

Dublin to win this Sunday but Tyrone will be their main challenger for Sam I think in 2016.

PS: Now off to the bookies with you! :-))

Well that wasn't too difficult to predict! The Dubs just keep on giving! I made a nice few bob last year on the Dubs and especially on tipping Fenton to be MoM and I backed Kilkenny for MoM today, although the odds were nowhere near a generous as i got for Fenton last September! ;-))
I'm telling you all - get to the bookies, it will be a Dublin vs Tyrone All Ireland final!

Well done to Dublin, you really have a great side on your hands. Hard luck to Kerry and there is no shame in getting your backside handed to you by what is probably turning out to be the greatest Dublin team of all time.

I think Tyrone will a difficult team to beat come the championship, It is hard to measure us up based on league results as most counties don't give a toss about the league. But o denying this Dublin team is the finest i have seen.

Congrats to Dublin they are going to be around for a while i think
Mayo is the only team left that might give them a game .
Kerry will have to give the young fellows a chance it will take a few years
they got to start with the manager thought he would have learned from
Ai defeat made the same mistakes his selectors must be all yes men.
Kerry were beaten all over the field from the 1st whistle never contested
breaking ball easily knocked off the ball. In the 2nd half Dublin were making
changes bringing in fresh legs u would think they were the team that were
behind Gavin outfoxed Fitzy once again time for him to move on
