I vaguely remember being at that game in '87 as a 10 year old.The only player i can remember is Dublin midfielder Jim Ronayne.Kerry had beaten us '79,83 & 84 All Irelands so it was a big deal to finally get one over on them. cuederocket (Dublin) - Posts: 5084 - 10/04/2016 21:41:39 1844104 Link 0 |

Absolutely cuederocket, 84 & 85 are what made the 87 win mean something (on the day) KerryKillers (Dublin) - Posts: 711 - 10/04/2016 21:56:44 1844116 Link 0 |
Listening to Joe Brolly Dublin shouldn't turn up. Kerry are going to roll is over easily. witnof (Dublin) - Posts: 1604 - 11/04/2016 08:20:23 1844120 Link 0 |
The league final is a warm up to a semi final meeting between these two in August.... yew_tree (Mayo) - Posts: 11232 - 11/04/2016 09:33:56 1844146 Link 0 |
"It's fair to say that Dublin legend John O'Leary is not a fan of defensive game plans and he reckons 'one simple rule change' could restore gaelic football to its former glory." - Dont think John is going to bother turning up either.. Blanket defences on both sides.. Sweet Jesus but this years league final is going to see the death of Football...!! Mid Don (Donegal) - Posts: 70 - 11/04/2016 11:05:11 1844188 Link 0 |

I think we will see both all Ireland finalists on sunday week CroiGorm (Dublin) - Posts: 1547 - 11/04/2016 11:20:44 1844194 Link 0 |
Kerry would need to have a decent lead at HT to win this. If Kerry start with their best 15 and its high intensity, will be tough for them in the final 15 whereas Dublin will throw on fresh forwards who tend to score better than Kerry's replacements as per recent meetings. Dublin for me to win it but expect a close game in most parts. poguemahone (Dublin) - Posts: 365 - 11/04/2016 11:30:12 1844204 Link 0 |
I know that but I think tyrone will be the other finalist so tyrone v Kerry/Dublin I think will be the all Ireland with the winners of Kerry or Dublin champs coopersleftfoot (Kerry) - Posts: 91 - 11/04/2016 11:31:10 1844205 Link 0 |

I think will hammer them by at least ten points I can't see them matching our pace in Croke Park. clondalkindub (Dublin) - Posts: 9926 - 11/04/2016 13:14:50 1844260 Link 0 |

important game for both sides, dublins last game until the AI semi (probably) and for Kerry until munster final id love to see Kerry really attack cluxtons kickouts like the final last year he was well rattled in that game, think we are well positioned to have a right cut off the dubs if we test that fullback line enough and get parity in the middle third coopersleftfoot (Kerry) - Posts: 91 - 11/04/2016 13:23:15 1844267 Link 0 |
Thats the big worry alright Clondalkin the speed and athleticism is virtually impossible to keep up with for 70 minutes (last 20 in particular) especially when you are relying on 34-35 year olds. KYTitletown (Kerry) - Posts: 816 - 11/04/2016 13:23:57 1844268 Link 0 |
I was never reading too much into game earlier this year , this may be different physiological damage could be inflicted on Kerry , another defeat and we will well and truly be messing with there heads , on the other hand great opportunity for Kerry do a they haven't gone away you know , for either of these to come to pass it would require both fielding strongest team and seriously going for it . Is that too much to expect ? will respective coaches want to show there hands before a possible meet in champo ? Damothedub (Dublin) - Posts: 5193 - 11/04/2016 13:46:29 1844283 Link 0 |
I don't think you will be damo I see no incentive for either side in keeping the powder dry for a meeting 5 months hence for example I wouldn't be surprised if Kerry had a totally different full forward line for the championship individuals on both sides want to stake a claim for the summer I think it will be a belter! coopersleftfoot (Kerry) - Posts: 91 - 11/04/2016 13:52:57 1844286 Link 0 |
