Drove past it there on Saturday and had an aul nosey, I saw American football posts up on one of the pitches, what's the story with that? Don't tell me them north siders are starting to turn into their yuppie/hipster south sider neighbours!

Well either that or I was lost and didn't even know it, the Centre of Excellence is behind the Aquatic Centre ye?

Yeah it's behind the aquatic centre. There's a couple of pitches right beside it that can be used for anything really so might have been them that had the American football posts up.

The six new handball alleys in it are absolutely top class. Never seen courts anything like them. Normally the GAA completely forget about handball when building something like this but this time they have really stepped up to the plate. Finest handball alleys in Ireland

No different to the "Connacht" GAA Centre of excellence in Mayo it will be used by Dublin and its clubs.,..hard to blame the GAA here but it will help Dublin no question.

Its a joke -counties like wicklow and meath struggle finishing their centres of excellence in ballinakill and dunganny -lo and behold -the richest county gets 1 built for them by the most unequal sports body (not dubs fault its the GAA)

A disgraceful decision. Can only be of use to Dublin and at a push Kildare and Meath lads.

Awful timing and a real opportunity missed by the government and the GAA to breath new life into places where the game is struggling big time. The cost of building in Dublin is twice what is is in Offaly or Tipperary. They could have built two slightly smaller centres, one in the west and one in the south.

What's more Dublin have enough money to build their own training facilities and probably will do in the next few years.
