I hadn't seen Roscommon in the flesh yet so was really looking forward to seeing them today.

They were very disappointing to be honest. On today's evidence they are a long way off Mayo in Connacht. Their midfield was bad and their full back line was awful.

A lot of work to do between now and summer but maybe this will be a good wake up call for them as they can't be as bad a team as they looked today.

Do you mean the stamp on Fintan Cregg? Looks bad that the ball is gone and he's looking down and STILL makes contact with his head..

Depressing day in CP yesterday. Roscommon shown up for being a league team and nothing else, definitely not at the races in in knock out football.
Dublin hammering a top 4 team further emphasising how far ahead they are.
A few Ulster teams have experienced hammering by Dublin in the last 3 years. Its not just happening to Leinster teams.

Donaghy had a decent game yesterday. Nothing in the collision with Cathal Cregg. Total accident.
Cregg could learn a bit from the Kerry forwards

Anyone know what the story is with Connolly? Is he injured? Wasn't at the game so don't know if he took part in the warm up.

A demoralising defeat for us yesterday certainly. It was a very lethargic, insipid performance. Kick outs were poor (again!), balls were spilled or easily given away, we lost possession in the tackle, no overlap support for the man on the ball, poor shot selection and bad wides. All in all a horrible day at the office and when you're playing a team like Dublin that only means one thing - a tanking!

In fairness to Dublin the did what they do best. Their workrate is phenomenal and once they get on top they are ruthless in finishing teams off. We were perhaps fortunate that they just weren't as clinical with their goal chances as they could have been. Otherwise it really could have been embarrassing. Just a word on Cluxton's kickouts though - unbelievable. He could land a ball on the proverbial sixpence. So hard to negate that kind of accuracy.

For us now, expectations have been really lowered which might not be a bad thing. We started the league so well and word is that was the intention. To establish 6 points as soon as possible to ensure Div 1 status for 2017. That's all well and good, and I have defended the players and management on the Donegal forum, but there is no doubt that performances have hit a worrying level. We no longer look threatening going forward at all. I would say we must only have managed about 3 points from play yesterday? Plus, the discipline has gone to the dogs. More mouthing yesterday! Absolutely pointless and frustrating to see.

The good news is that we have time to regroup away from the spotlight and get some much needed sharpness back. I still believe in this team and that there is another Ulster title in them. The hard work starts now though.

What do Donegal fans make of Gallagher giving the team a full week off? No training in the week leading up to a semi final?

there was 31,324 in croker yesterday which is the largest semi finals attendance of any of the 4 years since 2012
when the semi finals were reintroduced.
That's over 11 thousand up on last years semi final attendance which was 20,013.
last years final had only a handfull more than yesterdays semi finals 31,548.

the overwhelming emotion I had after the games yesterday was one of sadness and boredom, the first game was predictable enough I thought the rossies did very well to get there but not a top 4 team yet, never seemed to believe they could do it . the second game I found depressing its a poor competition when one of the alleged top 4 teams is beaten at a canter like Donegal were yesterday, outside of maybe tyrone and mayo I am struggling to see anyone who could give Kerry (not to mind the dubs a real challenge come the summer) at least the final will be competitive (hopefully)

Went along yesterday in the hope of seeing some competitive football. Got frozen and had to endure 2 very one sided games. Kerry completely on top from the 1st whistle and could have won by an awful lot more if they were bothered. Very slick and decisive in the 1st half and had the game well put to bed by half time. Wonderfully worked goal by Cooper. Don't think there was a decent tackle on Darren O'Sullivan in the match, must have thought it was Christmas such was the amount of space he got. Rossie full back line exposed time after time, didn't help with poor positioning and a total lack of marking. Rossie midfield got completely blitzed and when they did get the ball, there were few/no options on front of them. Savage lesson to get, hope Rossies can learn and improve from this, they've a mountain of improvement to do if they are to have aspirations of winning a provincial, never mind an AI.
Less said the better about Dub-Donegal game. Donegal looked a pale shadow of the team of 2 yrs ago. Entertaining enough first half, some of the Dublin scores were top class especially Andrews effort from the corner under the Hogan. Don't know if they are totally out of sorts or what, but a lot of Donegal players were totally off the pace and the subs were no better.
Heard Benny Coulter on the radio last week, he said there were 5 potential winners of the AI, Dublin, Kerry, Mayo, Donegal and Tyrone. I know it's only April but after yesterday, I think you can reduce that number by 1. The rate at which the top teams are pulling away from the rest gives me the shivers for the future of inter county football.

Two lopsided games yesterday, very disappointing .At least we should have a good final.
Rhudson, I'm not sure we have a big 3, big 2 more like and the big 2 are Dublin & Kerry.
