Mulligan Vs the Dubs in 2005 was a magical moment. Also Diarmuid Connelly's goal in the club final a couple of years ago, a special moment from a special player. ShortGrass_1 (Kildare) - Posts: 223 - 31/03/2016 13:12:20 1839631 Link 0 |

John Leahy vs Galway in 2000. Bamboozled Galway defender knocking the ball over his head and scoring a point. WildPundit (Tipperary) - Posts: 1709 - 08/04/2016 20:51:18 1843648 Link 0 |
I think a post like this shows up one of the flaws in both of our games. Most of the moments mentioned here are scores of one type or another. The Cruyff moment was a piece of skill to beat a man and the ability to do this through skill alone (not athleticism ) is missing on our games. In football the only real version of this is the solo dummy. So who's the best 'thrower' of a dummy around today or indeed the best you've seen? catchturnscore (Longford) - Posts: 149 - 08/04/2016 20:54:07 1843651 Link 0 |
janesboro. that was more like Roy of the Rovers thrown in with Roy Keane style determination sort of stuff. For me, that is the greatest hurling point scored in the history of the GAA. Pinkie (Wexford) - Posts: 4100 - 11/04/2016 16:17:30 1844363 Link 0 |
Catchturnscore Marc O'Se scored an outstanding point on Sunday, selling a dummy solo before nonchalantly kicking it over the bar from 45 metres with the outside of his right boot. Seems to have largely gone without mention but it was a marvellous piece of skill from a lad who plays most of his football at corner back. In the 2002 Connacht semi-final against Galway in Castlebar, a guy called Michael Moyles ran in from the throw-in and buried the ball into the top-corner from 35 yards out. There's seemingly no YouTube footage, which is a shame as it was probably the best goal I've ever seen. Gleebo (Mayo) - Posts: 2208 - 13/04/2016 14:52:21 1845204 Link 0 |
speaking of galway, Michael Meehan often did things that only players with that special bit of magic dust could do Liamwalkinstown (Dublin) - Posts: 8166 - 13/04/2016 15:50:46 1845244 Link 0 |
