I thought the last two Mayo frees were correct decision. Not much in them but they were both frees. But the throw up before the end was a bit of a joke all right, should have been a free out to Dublin. Well done Mayo

have to say ref was awful today.
o connor was wrestled to the ground and he gave dublin a free out absolutly woeful decision
then the crowd boo him for 30 seconds non stop after
and lone behold any tackle that went in he awards a free to mayo
was terrible to see him trying to make amends like that
and the last free should never have gotten to have been awarded
the mayo player on the ground picked the ball striaght off the ground and he awarded a throw up
how can you give a throw up ?
the foul after that the winner was kicked from was a free no disputing that
but the throw up should never have been it was a clear free out.
didnt think dublin were good enough all day, relied on con o callaghan far too much
but got themselves back on top in the blink of an eye and looked like they were going to see it out
when they went four clear. sad to see a ref ruin it for players like that in the last 5 mins
the gaa needs to stop hiding behind the age old line the ref is only human
its not the first time it has happened and wont be the last either
until the ref performances are viewed in the same light as players
and are dropped for poor performances
and rewarded for good performances we will continue to have this very bad standard
of officating that has existed

Well done Mayo. Great game of football. You've got yourselves a serious footballer in O'Connor. Best of luck in the final.

Clondalkin I know your a passionate Dub but you really let yourself down with those sour grapes. The better team won today and Mayo have had their share of heartbreak.
Congrats to Mayo, Under 21 is certainly more entertaining than senior at the moment

Great first half of football. Cork created enough goal chances in 30 minutes to win 3 games but Monaghan have some excellent forwards of their own.

What a game between Cork and Monaghan! A point in it at half time.

Really looking forward to the second half. Couldn't pick a winner at this stage!

Yeah before the thrown in - it should have been a free out to Dublin .

Then again , A Mayo player was clearly fouled earlier on and ref decided on over carrying .

Thought he was awful throughout .

Mayo showed great heart and deserved .

Great result for us. I didn't think we were gone when a few points down....this team have a never say die attitude. O Connor, Irwin, Ruane, all very good. Thought our goalie lost his head. Ref was poor....very poor against both sides. Hard luck to Dublin. Now we need to go on and win it...10 years on from our last win at this grade. Up Mayo. :)

Looks like I could be eating my words about us not conceding 3 goals! Great game, we really need to tighten up on Cork's forwards if we are to win though.

must say ive enjoyed two of the best games of football in a long time
under 21 has always provided some great games down the years
I think the gaa has made a big mistake by messing with under 21
the issue was allways the overuse and abuse of the more talented players

Mayo Dublin was a hugely entertaining game, great credit to both teams,

If you read back on page one of this thread you will see i have been fairly spot on thus far and i still believe it will a Cork v Mayo U21 final and with Mayo adding U-21 All Ireland to the minor one they won 3 years ago.

Results tomorrow i expect two high scoring close games with plenty of goals. Mayo 2-12 Dublin 1-14, Cork 3-9 Monaghan 1-11

Well done Cork and hard luck to Monaghan.

Both Mayo and Cork were both deserving winners I thought.

Should be a cracking final. Really looking forward to it.

The under 21 Grade is and always has been the most exciting and enjoyable of all Competitions in both hurling & football. Two great games today and a great Final to look forward to.
When teams progress to Senior level it becomes too cynical for my liking.

Rhudson yeah they were good games because they were close and open
But I didn't think the skill level was good from any of the four teams.
For me only O connor mayo
O Callaghan Dublin and Hurley cork were impressive. Don't confuse open games of football with top quality football. Last year's semi finals had far better players on show I felt and yes the games were more open than most senior games but the quality of football wasn't near the level at senior.

Two excellent games of football, with the players on all teams showing great commitment, fitness and skill. It has the makings of a good final. I was very impressed with the character shown by Mayo to come back from the dead, as they did against Roscommon, to win the game. Monaghan coped admirably with the sheer size of the Cork team but we're undone by the breadth taking speed of the smaller man Hurley. Congrats to all four managers for the manner in which their teams played.

Is Callaghan in the Dublin senior squad?
I assume final will be in Ennis like 10 years ago. Huge Mayo crowd will travel to this. Do the Cork public follow this team? Didn't appear to be many Cork fans in Tullamore.
