The Rossies won. End of. Not a good performance but they pulled through. Onwards and upwards.

Correct and true. Played a match in Cabra once against the bauld Finbarr's boys. The trick is to at all costs stick to the football and try to establish a lead. Before long, they will tire of attacking you and eventually start attacking each other.

For the warm down after the match, simply job the 2 miles back to where you parked your car and stretch there!
Good times!

Matches in Gaelic Park aren't easy. The surface is poor and it's tight enough. Throw in a team itching to cause an upset and if you're not at it, you can quickly find yourself in a pickle. I'd say it's a blessing in disguise for Ros. They can go home now and train hard knowing that expectations have been lowered. I wouldn't be ruling them out of anything at the this stage. Get the injured boys back and they can still have a right cut at Connacht and the AI series.

Yeah we all had a little laugh but that is to be excepted. I still think Roscommon will be in the Connacht final.

I still believe Roscommon will cause Mayo problems in Connacht.

We have our own hurdles to jump before that happens. London away should be dealt with but Galway in Castlebar....Galway very very quiet.

Some guff on here from the usual suspects trying to take a dig at Roscommon. Roscommon got into the next round and that's all that matters for them at the end of the day. Their management team have a stick to beat them with for the next few weeks so it's an ideal position for them to be in. I expect Mayo to meet Ros in Connacht Final and the New York result will be well forgotten about by then. New York deserve huge credit for competing with a Division 1 team. Remember that NY have had no competitive games in the past 11 months. Well done to the whole GAA community stateside.

Make sure you wear your extra, extra, extra large one. Wouldn't want the fair maidens of Ballina to be scandalised now would we?

Yes they have, but they are still entitled to get stuck into your team when they have been talked up as an elite side and then produce a performance like that. It is part and parcel of dining at the top table in gaa. Nobody is going to ignore your bad games any more. People are now going to question your top players, e.g. where were these famed superstar Roscommon forwards when they were needed?

Get used to it.

TheMaster (Mayo) - Posts:15508 - 03/05/2016 09:58:33

Who talked them up? Media, keyboard warriors, bookies I haven't heard the players or management come out at any time saying we are an elite side that can beat anyone.Do they want to get to the top level i hope so but long way to go.
Management have been clear all along about there goals for the year division 1 survival to get regular games against the top teams which will help improve us(dublin kerry mayo etc) and a shot at connaught title.Ups and down expected from me but we will keep at it like Mayo have. famed superstar Roscommon forwards where did you get that ??

Roscommon scored 1-15 which will win most games as evidently shown and had 6 further goal chances. Their keeper was MOTM. It is the defence I would question to be honest! A win is a win, it will reduce the hype, maybe put Roscommon under the radar a bit. Beating a team like NY by 1 point will obviously mean we are massive underdogs for the Leitrim game.

I doubt Roscommon will be underdogs for the Leitrim match.

Disagree rosfan midfield is the root of the problem. We can't win our own kickouts and ball is coming back on top of our full back line putting extra pressure on and starving our forwards of good ball. Mayo and kerry games in the league showed this.Mayo won bout 90% of kickouts and kerry not far behind. They pushed up on our kickouts and made us kick it long. Was'nt in Newyork but I'd imagine they did the same. Kevin Higgins Cathal Shine Michael Finneran Karl mannion have been there for us over the last few years and not now for various reasons and we miss them bad.

Roscommon will do very well to make a connacht Final. Roscommon are a nice league team but when it comes to the real stuff we fold over when the going gets tough time and time again.Lacking a fighting spirit is the worst weakness of all and it seems we just dont have it.
Mayo will destroy whoever they meet in the Connacht final. Galway ate best equippef to give them a game in Connacht.

Salvador, if you think anyone is buying that you are off your head.

As I said earlier, welcome to the big leagues, you will have to do better than that.
