I think we should be talking more about New York here and their amazing effort, to have zero preprration in terms of competitive games and to play as well as that against a team that pretty much blazed a trail in Division 1 of the league is some achievement, fair play NY you were exceptionally close to creating the shock of the year, the decade and many other decades too. Keep up the efforts lads your day will come Richieq (Meath) - Posts: 3734 - 02/05/2016 09:53:45 1851216 Link 0 |
It just shows you cannot always trust the league.Rossies were fitter than most they admitted themselves.. ziggy32001 (Meath) - Posts: 8354 - 02/05/2016 10:01:01 1851219 Link 0 |
Great effort from New York. If ever there was an advert for their inclusion that was it. Can anyone verify that Rowcommon got a very soft penalty? Mayo man Brian Gallagher at midfield apparently tore through Roscommon at will yesterday. Roscommon have a lot of work to do by the looks of things. yew_tree (Mayo) - Posts: 11232 - 02/05/2016 10:13:05 1851225 Link 0 |
Connacht title staying in Mayo. All talk about how competitive it might be this year looks a bit far fetched now to be honest. MesAmis (Dublin) - Posts: 13710 - 02/05/2016 10:18:55 1851227 Link 0 |
Obviously a great effort by NY, but not a game to read anything more into. A blip for the Rossies, and a useful lesson. Pericles (Mayo) - Posts: 2521 - 02/05/2016 10:24:01 1851228 Link 0 |
I had a good luck at penalty and would have to say it was the softest given in Gaelic Park for decades but Deegan was quick to give it and he is a good ref. History was made by the NY lads in that for the first time people believe they belong in the Connacht C'ship. and they finished very strongly. They would do really well in Leinster at the present also. Thank you to all in the NY set up for this huge effort. suckvalleypaddy (Galway) - Posts: 1669 - 02/05/2016 10:34:21 1851232 Link 0 |
I don't know why people are surprised at New York, sure haven't they a huge population, play all their games at home........... Llaw_Gyffes (Mayo) - Posts: 1113 - 02/05/2016 10:38:39 1851233 Link 0 |
The Bronx is one tough place. That GAA pitch even looks a tad intimidating.Fair play to New York in mixing it with a good team. They gave Galway their fill of it few years back.Close shave for the Rossies, but job done.I give them a fair chance of winning Connacht.I'm not as convinced about Mayo retaining their title as others on here. cuederocket (Dublin) - Posts: 5084 - 02/05/2016 10:41:30 1851234 Link 0 |

I think i understand them pretty well witnof.Park well away from the ground to have a decent chance of having all windows intact post game.I'm always on edge until i'm looking in the rear view mirror, half way up the Navan Road.Come to think of it,i'd rather take my chances in the South Bronx(: cuederocket (Dublin) - Posts: 5084 - 02/05/2016 11:17:29 1851246 Link 0 |
