Waterford - Dublin 6,362
Cork - Kilkenny 8,000+

Fermanagh - Cavan 5,158
Donegal - Roscommon 7,000+
Mayo - Kerry 13,000
Limerick - Laois 2,000

Looked like big crowds in Galway and Newry too.

Was at Cork Monaghan yesterday, the usual disappointing Cork football support. I'd say about 2,000. Lots of Monaghan in that. Was talking to a few of them, great supporters to travel the length of the country. Pity they didn't get a better performance on the day.

Impressive attendance of 21,512 at the Munster football final yesterday. Despite Tipps win over Cork I don't thing there was any great expectation there given all the players they have lost from the panel. 29,377 wasn't bad for the Leinster final given how dominant Kilkenny have been.

On the other hand some very poor crowds for the hurling qualifiers. Shows where Cork are at when they couldn't sell out the 12,000 Pairc Ui Rinn for a home game against decent opposition and Wexford and Offaly attracting a mere 3,100 to Wexford Park.

Just shows you weren't at the game Saturday night dahayeser, pretty much full up at pairc ui rinn, just short of the 12,000 attendance and probably 11,800 of them were Cork supporters.

Next time Cork play Dublin at home it will be in or 45,000, €78 million, centre of mediocrity, Pairc O'Murchu ...10,058 will look fairly sparse then..

Touchy touchy rebelfi, sure what would it matter if I was there or not. It doesn't really undermine my point one way or another.

Anyway, back in your box :-) I was indeed there, brought a good gang with me too as it happens. hill16no1man is spot on with his figure, just under 2000 tickets unsold. Even though Cork hurling is at a low ebb I though this would have been sold out by last Wednesday. Doesn't look like we'll have too many travelling for the Wexford game.

Seemed to be a decent crowd at Laois v Armagh maybe 4,000 ?

Not bad for a Sat afternoon and a refixed tie...

I'd say they'll be lucky to get 20 tiobraid. Cork could only get 10k at home last week Wexford could only get 3k. If they can get half of those crowds to travel they'll be doing well. Both counties know they are well off the pace. Limerick don't have much faith in TJ Ryan or the team at the moment, they'd usually bring a big crowd but won't this time. There is massive frustration in Clare that Davy that this golden generation is being wasted by Davy and they don't seem to be bring big crowds despite all the talented hurlers they have.

Kilkenny's second half blitz of Galway has further deflated interest in this championship unfortunately.

juniorjudge, yep you are right.

My ramblings referred to Saturday's games in Thurles.

I hope so however i fear 2/3/4000 waterford people will decide against travelling to limerick as opposed to thurles. Was think 33/34 myself but sure not long to wait and see now...think your right btw regarding sat attendences!

Attendances have been crap this year and it's all down to the dominance of certain teams.

Tipp have now won 6 of the last 9 minsters
Killkenny have won 16 of the last 19 leinsters
Mayo have won 6 of the last 8 connaughts
Dublin 11 of the last 12 leinsters
Kerry have won 6 of the last 7 munsters
Killkenny have won 11 of the last 16 all Irelands

Why would attendances be good when everything is so boring and predictable?

Sad to see the Munster final played out before a mere 26,508. The most disappointing thing is, going in to the game at least these were viewed as 2 good teams with genuine All Ireland ambitions. Tipp and Waterford had huge support in years gone by. Cork or Linerick would have flooded the place it they had such potential to support.

To put this in context the crowd her was 3k smaller than the Leinster final where you had a Galway team going badly playing a Kilkenny side that must be board of winning Leinsters.
