Don't think Division 1 has thrown up many surprises this year bar maybe Ros being better than I thought and Monaghan perhaps not as good. Donegal looked impressive early on and did enough to stay up before returning to semi hibernation. Dublin keep on winning without really trying and will probably win the league again. Kerry had their usual slow start before coming into form at the right time and will reach the final if they really want. Cork are the usual enigma, capable of beating the best or losing to the worst on any given day. Mayo found themselves in a position they didn't really want, having to beat Roscommon to stay up, but they will be happy with the form of some new players and should be okay. Roscommon are hard to gauge, some very impressive displays early on were soured a little by their performance on Sunday. However I would be inclined to discount that game as Mayos need was far greater and Ros seemed to find it hard to motivate themselves. Down unfortunately are a disappointment as they are always good to watch and a good run in Division 1 would benefit them greatly. Monaghan have surprisingly left themselves in a position where they will probably have to beat Donegal to stay up and that could be a hard ask. At the end of it all we didn't learn much that we didn't already know. Ulster will be between Donegal, Monaghan and Tyrone. Connacht will be closer that the last few years but Mayo should still come through. Kerry will win Munster if Cork don't have one of their inspired days and Dublin will sleepwalk through Leinster. Does that look too cut and dried or are there surprises out there waiting to happen?

Just wanted to say I really enjoyed the league show last night James Horan and Paul Galvin were excellent and love him or hate him Parkinson is very good at what he does. Couldn't believe how impartial Horan was over the Dubs being a dirty team I really liked what he had to say , my only gripe was neither picked Dublin to win Sam Kerry or Mayo for them.

So your only gripe is that they don't think and say exactly what you want them to on all topics...

Maybe you should just record yourself talking and watch that back?

Your are probably right Llaw_Gyffes

We havn't seen much to suggest any major changing of the guard.

Roscommon have been impressive up until last weekend, but the wheel's came off the wagon big time on Sunday and it will be very interesting to see how they do this weekend and in any potential semi-final. The fact they had a much higher level of fitness that the big guns over the early part of the League might skew how strong they are.

Mayo have had a fairly forgettable League but they showed enough last Sunday to suggest they are still the ones to beat out west. I havn't seen anything of Galway so I'm unsure what challenge they might mount.

Up North, Monaghan look too limited to make any huge impact. It will probably be a case of Tyrone and Donegal and I fancy the former to emerge next July. Donegal will be a dangerous opponent for any side in Ireland on a given day, but I don't think they will mount a sustained All Ireland challenge.

Dublin are unbeaten without looking to have broken much sweat or doing anything particularly spectacular. Leinster will be the usual cake walk for them, but the knock out stages of the League might show up any chinks in their armour ahead of their All Ireland defense.

Down south, we are motoring along nicely and hopefully we can get into the last 4 of the League and give ourselves a couple of tough matches to see where we really stand ahead of the Championship. Cork, as you say, can beat us or anyone on the day. But as usual they look far too inconsistent to mount a proper All Ireland title bid.

At moment, I'd predict a Kerry/Dublin League final but I'll have to see how both get on in the next two weeks before I could call a winner.
Monaghan to join Down in the drop and Roscommon and Donegal to squeeze into the semi's.

Ulster will be between Tyrone, Donegal and Monaghan, I think Cavan could rattle Tyrone, but ultimately I could see a Tyrone v Donegal final or maybe a Tyrone v Monaghan final.

I expect Tyrone to push hard this year, although Its hard to tell yet whether they have pushed on from last year. Likewise its too early to know with Donegal, they haven't showed their full hand yet, but have looked impressive at different stages playing experimental line-up's and tactics.
Monaghan will come good, but they are still too one dimensional, and hard to see them breaking the cycle outside of Ulster without changing that. Very solid side come Championship, and definitely in with a shout in winning Ulster.

Outside of those 3, I can't see anybody apart from maybe Cavan having any real chance of breaking into that top 3 and seriously challenging for Ulster.

Dublin vs Roscommon game switched to Carrick on Shannon.. Some county board we have leaving it till the last second to announce the change! I feel sorry for the Dublin supporters who have come down without the full knowledge of where the match will be played

If ever a game needed a goal!

Hard to see if the foul was in the area or not but the ref seemed to be in a good position so I'd give him the benefit of the doubt.

Could be a decent game 2nd half but Cork will need a serious improvement.
