Good result for us today but Roscommon were unlucky. They had the wind behind them in the first half, we had the storm in the second, so I wouldn't consider it a great come back or anything. Subs did well for us so there was positives but a lot of room for improvement

It looks as if Down and Roscommon facing uphill battles to stay in the division.

Down looked awful at home against Donegal and Roscommon would have been targeting a home fixture against Monaghan as a chance to get 2 points on the board.

Interesting today with Monaghan v Down! Everybody writing Down off after last weekend. The only way for them now is UP, so Monaghan BEWARE a very wounded animal. I still expect us (Monaghan) to win, it could be close & right now Iwould settle for a 1 pt win!

I expect Division 1 to follow a similar path to last year, with the likes of Dublin and Cork who have large panels going all out to win the league, with Monaghan going full tilt for a SF berth.

I think the likes of Donegal, Mayo and Kerry will be happy enough to get 6 points and pick up no major injuries, anything after that will be a bonus game. I don't believe any of them are committing to trying to win the competition.

Roscommon and Down are probably both targeting promotion, and I wouldn't be surprised if Roscommon actually stay up.

How are Monaghan looking this year? I sensed last seasons loss to Tyrone in Croker was a massive blow to the team, not just because of Monaghan's AI QF jinx, but Tyrone ran out fairly comfortable winners in the end. Monaghan are a strong outfit, but it can be tough picking a team up after a harsh end like that.

Great result for Roscommon today and for Mayo now as we'll probably be in a relegation battle with Down and Kerry. I saw enough improvement in Mayo against Dublin to think we'll be alright and we're definitely stronger than Down and Kerry.

I think Kerry and Down will be relegated from Div 1.

Another good win for us today with the younger players again doing well. We look to be determined to secure div 1 status early this year and coast the league then to try out some things. Great start but Mayo need the points against us the next day. If we win that one the lads can really relax.

Still a bit early in the year to determine how we'll do or if there's any noticeable differences. We haven't really been impressive at all yet in the league but we're on 4 points, which bodes well with alot of room for improvement and more lads to return. Eoin Lennon will be a huge loss in midfield and we don't have a similar player to replace him so that could be an issue, but he appears to be the only player not coming back, and that's a forced retirement due to injury. That would probably tell you alot about the mindset of the team and their belief they can still go far, so I wouldn't be too concerned about them getting motivated again for the new season.

Another big thing to work on would be a greater spread of scorers and not relying on McManus as much. There are a good few promising young forwards in the squad for the league who will get their chance - Kerr, McKenna, McGinn, McCarthy, McCarron(although injured right now) - and some of these have shown good promise so far. If even a couple of them could step up as reliable scoring forwards who will chip in along with the likes of the Hughes's, Malone and Duffy, that would be a big boost.

As I say hard to tell too much yet. Alot to work on based on the last two games, the Dubs in Croke Park up next will tell us alot.

Kerry have to win three games to stay in the league. A bit premature suggesting relegation for them I think. They could yet win the competition

Does anybody know what that caileach was doing on the pitch just as the Dublin team were coming back onto the pitch for the 2nd half in Castlebar last night

Kerrykillers

Winning by 7, 6 mins into the second half.

Lost by 7.

Imagine this Dublin (Or any of the top 3 or 4 sides for that matter) got their hands on them

Shocking crack. Meath fans will be livid.

Can't blame them.

Dublin fans seem very disappointed Meath lost. Funny how so called intense Leinster 'rivalries' go out the window when the opposition is from Ulster!

Lads I have no idea how in the world Roscommon have pulled that off but I can only say I'm delighted, if we beat down we're all but safe which would be a remarkable achievement for this team. I didn't think we had that scoring capability let alone the capability to win the match but I've never been as happy to be proven wrong!
