Jesus some of the Fermanagh boys are hyping up this one a bit too much, I've a lot of time for Fermanagh, and even more for Pete McGrath, and would love to see them being successful but lads it's a league game in February put it in its context

Meath beat a poor Ulster team last week and suddenly every Meath poster believed they were on their way to promotion.

Really? Every Meath poster? You don't think that's an over the top sweeping statement, probably brought on because I'm guessing there's a few Meath posters that you don't like?

I can only speak for myself but I have litterally no expectations out of Meath this year, I said as much in the very second post in this thread and that didn't magically change after beating a poor Armagh, although 4 consecutive wins isn't bad for the confidence of any team.

Also in both 2014 and 2015 we were on the verge of promotion and indeed threw it away both years by getting draws from winning positions so I don't think it's wholly unreasonable for a team that finished 3rd two season in a row to aim for one better, do you?

Anyway, congrats on the win yesterday, it was a good result for Fermanagh and puts us under more pressure.

Htaem that's it in a nutshell, I still think in navan we will win the two remaining games, that will put us on 6 , but how dare the Meath supporters have the audacity to think and actually point out a way if we have solved some things, to say we might get promoted, I mean we only lost out on head to head last year after throwing away huge lead in one game and given a goal due to missed kick out in another, the cheek of us, who do we think we are, after all this was Fermanagh we wet playing with all their history and provincial titles. Give me a break, Meath lost the game yesterday simple as that and it was 2 points lost that should have been won , and yet again I can see that coming back to haunt us. But best of luck to Fermanagh

Good win for Tyrone and it's good to give game time to some of the younger players but it may be a blessing to be in Division Two this year as I doubt whether we are able for the likes of Dublin or Donegal on todays performance. I have though Derry would be the team to get promotion with Tyrone so Cavan must feel hard done to have narrowly lost to both. Meath v Cavan and Armagh v Fermanagh are big matches in the third round and the teams that lose would be in trouble. I would go with Cavan and Fermanagh to win out in these.

Do I sense a bit of sarcasm there ;) royaldunne last year was last year.....its now irrelavent. Tyrone drew 3 games they should of won last year and stayed up but didn't... move on from it. Div 2 is quite poor to be honest and I'd worry if any of the teams went up to Div 1 because they would struggle badly apart from maybe Tyrone because of last years performances and they have been in div 1 recently and performed well. I think Meath will be safe.....Tyrone and Derry to get promoted with Cavan and Loais to get relegated.

Was at the match in Enniskillen yesterday and on the day the best team won, they were able to hand pass the ball accurately something our players appear incapable off. I might add in reference to a recent post that Meath even with a better team 10 years ago, have never been able or good enough to come to this venue and win. I though the Ref was very poor handing out many yellow cards and the sending off was a bit harsh. Big Donnelly would compete with the best midfielders in the Country and I thought your no 7 was very good running directly at players, something we are incapable off. Let me give my sympathy to the family of the Down player (at 33 years) who died over the weekend. RIP.

Titles aren't given out for past performances RD. Perhaps thats whats wrong with Meath football, stuck looking in the past.

Donnelly is a great footballer, very underrated in my opinion. Doesn't get half the credit he deserves. Some point by him 30 seconds into the game.

Well done Fermanagh and Laois ..Proving a lot of so called experts wrong this weekend.

Love to see the two of them counties stay up...

We came up a bit short against the Red hands but I still think we will be in the shake up.

I think Tyrone and Derry are certain to up now.

Relegation? Its between everyone else to be perfectly honest!

Fixtures might have a lot to do with who stays up...

Laois have Meath at home and be thinking the same...

Armagh will know a defeat at home to Fermanagh the next day and their fate could be already sealed.

Fermanagh then have Laois at home which they will target 2 points from even if they loose to Armagh.

The Meath v Cavan game is also massive the next day out with Cavan needing something to give them a foothold in the division.

Laois will probably be thinking anything at home to Tyrone is a bonus the next day out but if they loose to Fermanagh in the fourth round they will find themselves in trouble and a lot might come down to Meath at home in their last game.

My own County Galway could go either way ...A win away to Derry the next day and suddenly its game on a defeat and then Meath at home in the forth round of fixtures becomes a must win game...

It really is fascinating stuff at this stage only thing that you could say is certain is that Derry and Tyrone are already safe and as many people thought will be gunning for promotion.

As I said in a previous post Laois and Fermanagh's wins at the weekend have just made it even more interesting!

I would agree with The Fridge, any of the division 2 sides would struggle for points in the first division with the exception of Tyrone. From an Ulster perspective its good to see Derry performing quite well at this stage and with some more players due back in to the fold I would expect them to see the league out and finish with promotion along with the red hands. I still feel Derry are lacking some quality in their inside forward line though which will ultimatley halt any serious progression this year. Would skinner bradley be asked back into the fold before championship I wonder? Meath I dont feel are nearly as bad as they played on sunday and I think we just caught them on the hop slightly and played the better (slightly) football on the day. They will be safe. Fermanagh need to be beating Armagh to have a chance of staying up so I think it boils down Laois, Fermanagh, Armagh and Cavan (who i still dont know what to make of) for the drop. Galway are a good young side who i feel may just miss out this year but should be comfortable against Cavan, Armagh and Fermanagh.

Who was celebrating RD? Considering I was in Croker that day I can assure you that no one was celebrating. There was an expression of gratitude between fans and the team, nothing else. Should the Fermanagh team have been booed off that day?

I think Derry are stronger now than last year, definitely improved on both defensive and attacking sides of our game. There was a level of disappointment on how we exited from the Championship to Galway last year, a really poor performance that day and some questionable descisions by the referee.
We are missing Eoin Bradley this year, but I think the team are going fairly well so far despite that, with Mark Lynch and Caolan O'Boyle stepping up.

It easy to slip up in the league, but I would fancy both Derry and Tyrone to get promoted this season. It's a really tough division, with most teams being very solid and hard to break down. Armagh are the only team who really don't look the part, but in saying that there was only a kick of the ball between themselves and Laois, and they would fancy taking points against Cavan and Fermanagh. Anything could happen yet in Division 2

Royaldunne your some buachaill. I seen you after the final whistle in the Leinster final in 2010 run over to Throw Sherdian and both of ye were doing a jig on the pitch singing "You will never cheat the Royals". You cant bring you anywhere.
