Good test now for Meath

Down a man away from home

Referee was very poor in the Meath and Fermanagh game. Yes it was a sending off but the last 4 frees to give Fermanagh the win, not one was a free.

Bad display from Meath, yes down a man midday through the first half. But they are not not near enough from their full forward line.First major test for MOD today and he failed it.Doesn't look like any progression will be made in his 4th year.

Armagh lost again!!!
But how many of those who played last night will play in the championship..... we have a lot missing..... Captain C. McKeever is a massive loss., K. Dyas, A. Mallon . C. Rafferty ( abroad) Jamie ( somewhere on the planet).....

however what about the time wasting by Laois and Armagh did hit the crossbar and posts 4 times..

MeathonHill what about the free Meath were given to put them 6-5 up? Never a free. In my mind some shocking decisions on both sides by the ref. Incident where number 14 got booked for Meath (Was it newman?) was a strange one for me. High tackle and off the ball by him on two players, both yellows but only the one given. I know it was in the one passage of play but the ref was playing advantage for the first foul when he blew for the second. Poor game of football but I'm quite glad to take the win.

Anyway this isn't a go at Ziggy and the other Meath posters but Royal Dunne can you please stick that in your pipe and smoke it. All that crap you were slabbering on the Fermanagh board last week is coming back to bite you on your rear end.

great to get the win..poor game, pitch was awful, meath came into the game more after going a man down.

Yes the ref was poor for both teams, as for the last four frees, Fermanagh were dominating possession at that stage inside meaths half, free's were an inevitable consequence of this, but yes one of them frees was harsh!

Despite meath posters talking about promotion during the week i said if they lost this game they'l be in a real dog fight (like us) to stay up. Cant see meath beating tyrone galway or derry, the cavan game will be huge, but i think cavan despite having 2 loses can at least take comfort from the fact they ran tyrone and derry very close!!

As four us, 4/5 players to come back, armagh away, loais and cavan at home the way this league is panning out 3 points from these three games should avoid us getting the drop!

this is going to be a tight division galway have very young team
6 or 7 of last years under 21 team playing now
we found it hard to break down cavan last year
Fermanagh are on the up too
so it wont be easy

With your fixture list Fermanagh are in a better place to avoid regulation, but its going to be a real dogfight. Tyrone/Derry looking good at this stage to go up. Unless we can improve our scoring rate things look bleak. But still think we will survive, but only just.

Thats a bad habit of Royaldunnes! :)

As a Meath supporter the disappointment for me,is that we see the same problems with this management team 4 years in.We sacked better managers for less, and keep this one for the sake of having a longterm manager. We beaten today by an ok Fermanagh performance,I'm sure Fermanagh fans would say they have played an awful lot better than today.

If Meath are relegated(and we could) MOD should be let go before the champ, very lucky not to go after last year..

Spot on ziggy. Not a great performance by Fermanagh but conditions were never going to let a good game of football be played. Missing a few big players still. O'Callaghan is a great help to Donnelly in the middle of the park and he was out. The McCusker brothers are out of the country at the minute and their performances are pivotal to the Fermanagh game. Jonesy only came on for the second half and still doesn't look fully fit.
Still think Meath will have enough to stay up though. Two points on the board at the break are essential.

Well I think if we were aiming to avoid relegated then this is the number one priority, I'm afraid after the Fermanagh players celebratory antics after been hammered by dubs, most counties would be aiming for 2 points against you, look Meath are not the finished article by any means, but what I am saying and anybody else I speak to is That we don't have to be to win this one.
I am looking forward to Sunday but in all hoeit would be a huge surprise if we didn't win with bit to spare, now what I hope for is that you give us a better game than Armagh did, and then both sets of teams will know where the stand.

Whats a bit to spare in your opinion RD?

Jamie ( somewhere on the planet).....

Haha. Jez Armagh could do with him.....wouldn't worry to much yet. 5 Ulster derbies(I think) to come and Armagh are missing a lot of players.
Good win for Tyrone away.....made it difficult for themselves but 2 from 2 is hard to argue with, with 7 u21 players in the team.
Fermanagh with a good win in Brewster......Meath are Meath......miles down the pecking order. Mid table mediocre......if they did go up this year they wouldn't win a game in div 1. No offence Meath fans.
Derry good win, Cavan should be ok.

Meath beat a poor Ulster team last week and suddenly every Meath poster believed they were on their way to promotion.. Glad we served you up a proper welcome to Ulster football today ...
Signs are good for Fermanagh as we were missing 6 or 8 first choice players and still the bench made a good impact today

Eh,most Meath fans were thinking about staying up first,so not sure why you think most Meath fans said we would get promotion!

Bad game today all round, Meath failed to take their chances, and while Armagh last week proved to be a bad team Fermanagh are no great shakes either. Back to the drawing board for micko I'm afraid. Positive today cillian o Sullivan yet again , wow this guy is really coming on, promotion seems remote now I think Armagh and even though the won today Fermanagh would still be fav for the drop. Meath must beat cavan and see where we go from there cm

Yeah look Fermanagh are a very poor side and Meath should have beat them with 10 men never mind 14, id rate Fermanagh worse Tha Armagh, forget about the ref yes not one of the 4 frees that handed Fermanagh the win was a free and forget about the sending off that wasnt. Meath needed to brush aside inferior opposition and yet again they didn't.

Ziggy
"If we win against Fermanagh and Cavan, we are safe in the division and could push on from there to aim for promotion. And without meaning any disrespect in the slightest to either Fermanagh or Cavan, if you don't beat both of them, you really have no business being in Division 1. They are both decent Division 2 sides, but would be out of their depth in Division 1"

Just some of the tripe talked in the Meath forum.
