Well i was at the match yesterday, yes Armagh weren't great, but the 'wind' did pick up in the second half ... i firmly believe we should have had a penalty when the Meath corner back picked the ball off the ground in front of the goals... soupy campell had his jersey pulled right in front of the posts while he was attempting to shoot... did we deserve to win no....
but navan is easily the worst ground in the country.....

Here lad there were a few incidents on both sides and a few dodgy calls likewise that went unnoticed but I don't think Armagh can complain too much, you were lucky Forker wasn't sent off earlier in the match, as for Navan yes we know it's in bad shape, it's a s**tbox, but it's our s**tbox and it is soon going to have significant work done to it so the next time ye visit for a beating we should have improvements made.

Haha that's it royaldunne, splinters and asbestos are part of the charm of the place, these silver spoon celtic cubs just aren't tough enough to appreciate the place.

Gotmilk, every fan is depressed if they see one of the 'Marx' brothers from Sligo down to ref their game. Fermanagh seem to have suffered badly at their hands in recent years. I see some reports suggesting that Fermanagh took only two points from three clear goal chances yesterday so maybe things are not as bad as they seem.

Impressive result for Galway.....they will push for promotion. I hope they get it too. Having three Connacht teams in Division 1 would be great.

Yes Royaldunne - Forker should have been sent off much earlier... the Armagh management should have taken him off..... but we lost but I don't think anybody will be worrying about either Meath or Armagh....
still think it was a peno

Yew tree, A win is a win for Galway, but again from what I am hearing Laois were very poor.. Galway had 5 debutants (3 in the full back line) so again lets hold off for a week or two. Tyrone will be a step up in class next Sunday

Are you's building a new stadium up in Louth at the minute OLLIE or are there any plans to start in the near future?

Htaem all talk but no action. You could ask me in that question in five years time and still there would be no action. If I won the lotto I would build a 20,000 stadium up near the Cooley Mountains and name it the Paddy Keenan stadium. It's gone beyond a joke at this stage.

I have been to Drogheda and hard it is to say but Drogheda is at a higher standard than Navan.... lads i hope i'm wrong but how someone doesn't full on the crumbling steps in the main stand is beyond me.... Drogheda is much smaller but safer..... the toilet facilities are totally inadequate, at least Drogheda has a toilet with a door, and running water....
Now the the stadium problems isn't the fault of your Gael in Meath but the County Board must take responsibility...... when the country was booming then was the time to invest....... if Meath had a good ground then they would increase Meath spectator participation etc

I've been to nearly all the grounds ( except Klitoom) , from Creggan , to Ruislip, Emerald Grounds in Birmingham, Gaelic Park NY, but Navan is a soory sight and it is up to all of us , all Gaels to press the motion/agenda for a new stand/stadium for Navan, 15,000 would be adequate...

Meath and Leinster would benefit. Meathe is second only to Dublin in terms of GAA population in Leinster....

What won the game yesterday was that Meath could score against the wind. Yes, the wind got stronger as the game went on, but is it really an excuse for an inter county team not to score for 40 minutes (5 mins injury time). Both teams could have complained about the ref with some questionable decisions both ways. People say that Mea scored all but one of their 2nd half points from frees is one thing but Armagh defended in mass numbers AND their discipline inside their own 65 was terrible. From here, the sooner Armagh get the Cross' lads back the better and for Meath, well we have another tough game next Sunday and need to pick up the points.

Royal fan. Armagh were down quite a few yesterday. Meath won primary possession well and this forced Armagh to defend in numbers as with the wind against them not doing so could have led to a heavy defeat. In the last 20 minutes the Armagh defence consisted of 3 debutants, 2 forwards and Vernon. Bar Forker who was sent off most of the indiscipline was down to inexperience and panic. Hopefully that will change with time.

Armagh are a shadow of the team that beat us in 2014. They couldn't capitalize on the basic errors we were making in the first half for example passing into crowded areas. If it wasn't for the impatience of our forwards at times taking on scores from tight angles we would have had the lead at half time.

yes we deserved to win yesterday, but conditions definitely got worse in second half, Armagh were poor yesterday, but they will improve and could do so a few favours before league is finished. Glad we got them early in campaign.

does anyone actually enjoy watching league games of football anymore. To me it seems like the same thing over and over again. The ball is swiftly moved between hands up the field until the team enters the opposing 45 where it is met with a wall of "defenders" , the ball is recycled endlessly and most times is turned over or ends in a harmless shot at goals. the opposing team works the ball swiftly up the field until it is met by a wall and the same thing happens. in between this we have players being fouled whilst in posession but no frees given, however if you get surrounded and cant play the ball (whether you are on the ground or not), the ref will only be too delighted to award a free against you for over-carrying. The ball doesn't hop much on the surface so alot of passes have to be picked off your boot laces. little or no High-fielding and very few long range points. Admittedly div 1 is slightly better but this is dreadful stuff to watch. It seems that coaches have learned how to train teams to defend but not how to attack. There is little or no imagination involved from an attacking perspective.
also games being played in so called county grounds with little or no covered stands for punters who get rained on and freeze to death. Gaelic football is best played in summer.

I am aware that ye were down a few yesterday and it did have an effect. I do believe that Armagh will survive but like ourselves will not be going up. We were fortunate to play Armagh in R1, and the Cross lads will make a big difference

Goldrick you are obviously spending too much time watching Cavan! Only joking.

There were some good scores in by Armagh in first half yesterday and Meath had a number of high catches. The weather really does destroy games at this time of the year though.

As for the supporters there are some terrible grounds about. We are spoiled with the Athletic Grounds in Armagh. Pity the football isn't better though.
