I met an Armagh man yesterday who felt that Tyrone didn't try too hard against Fermanagh in order to relegate Armagh.
I told him he must be mad as Tyrone would try to win every game.
He was bulling over it.

If there was any game that Tyrone left the win behind them Slasher it was the Armagh match not Sundays.

Don't get me started on that game browncows. I've never seen a worse ref in my life!!! First point for Armagh came from a free for touching the ball on the ground even though the ball was about 6 inches off it.

From an armagh point of view it was a dreadful start to the league even though thats when we were playing the easier teams. I think we left three points behind in the Laois and galway games.

In the laois game we had more than enough chances to win the game hitting the woodwork a number of times when in on goal. Laois were dreadful but there shooting accuracy especially free taking and 45's was excellent which in the end was why they won wheras we were missing free kicks in front of the net. Evan o carroll is brilliant player btw. An then there was galways 7th minute injury time goal.

Looking at it now we are definitely in a stronger position than the start of the league and going into the championship we will come in under the radar which will suit us.
The league result between armagh- cavan will have no bearing on the outcome in the championship. I believe it will be a close game that could go either way by a few points.

Looking at the league overall it still can be very misleading eg westmeath and derry in the past and this year with cavan and roscommon who I think are fairly average teams that wont challenge the big guns.

Ya saying Armagh were unlucky to go down is wrong. They were hammered by Cavan, lucky to get a draw with Tyrone and lucky to beat Fermanagh. You couldn't say they should have more points.

Well Ziggy look at it this way they didnt lose to 3 of the top 4, It was the laois game which messed us up we had a lot of injuries and Cavan as well. I think if them games were now we would compete much better. But great in hindsight..Lucky to draw against tyrone alright but unlucky to draw against galway with a joke decision by the ref to play three minutes of injury time.... if we had of been +3 up then we would only have needed to win by two more points against Derry which would have kept us up. As opposed to 5 more....Small margins

What about the horrific decisions in the Armagh Fermanagh game? Armagh should have been down to 14, got awarded a free in front of the posts that even the Armagh fans were giving out about. Luck swung in roundabouts for Armagh in the league this year.

Personally I just about thought Armagh just about deserved to win the game against Fermanagh. I think both teams favored from the ref that day. Fermanagh got a right few handy frees that day particularly the equalizing point . But is I say my own opinion possibly biased I was at the game and watched it twice. We were mostly on top and in the lead against Fermanagh. But its done now no point crying over spilled milk hopefully come up again straight away feel alot better about armagh now than I did a month ago least they have a plan,

Swings and roundabouts. Armagh unlucky against us but they were lucky against Fermanagh. On the flip side we had 15 wides against Fermanagh and were on the wrong side of some dubious ref decisions from a ref from our noisy neighbours. On a good day we would have converted 6 to 7 more scores against Fermanagh. We also had a Shane Walsh effort brilliantly saved by the Tyrone goalie in the last few mins when we had them on the ropes, lost by two points and conceded an own goal as well as a howler of a goal against Meath although we fought back well. We could all if, but and maybe but these things tend to balance out.
