An interesting final 2 rounds ahead. A win against Laois and a draw with Galway would promote Cavan.

You're right, the CB almost certainly won't admit their mistake here, to be honest I'd say given the arrogant way they presented the job back to MOD that a lot of them probably don't even realise they made a mistake, it's a bit of a joke really.

I agree the CB and manager both need to go, they've proven themselves not to be up to the task, I mean how could we have confidence in the CB after the way they handled MOD's reappointed. They completely ignored the fact that not only did we fail to make progress in 3 seasons under MOD but we actually got worse, however they stuck him in there anyway (without allowing a vote), apparently in the name of some pseudo-stability.

I think Cavan should get promoted anyway. Them and Tyrone are by far the best teams I've seen from what Meath have played so far.

Htaem that's it in a nutshell. They fact that they made sure it didn't go to a vote as they feared it been defeated coupled with the meeting of majority of players with mod in Ashbourne hotel proved it was wrong decision to make. I am at a loss to explain this current CB, they act like they know best when clearly they dont. I just dont know what will happen. I feel they will continue regardless and ignore everyone else.

When MOD took over we were in dv3.We beat Roscommon and Cavan to promotion. Both those sides have passed us out since.

ya thats one difference we all know that. But MOD had a decent squad to work it 4 years ago.Shouldn't he have improved them as a team unit by now?

would it in any way be possible that the "quality " of Meath is overstated ?
what evidence is there that this squad is capable of operating at a higher level that they are today?

Because I watch Meath an awful lot over the years, and I know there are good footballers there. But the setup at present is the worst I have ever seen. The players confidence is shot.Good players have left the panel(while currently playing with their clubs) some others will not join the panel with MOD as manager.Any team needs a manager who is demanding imo and gives players confidence.MOD has learnt nothing in 4 years.

It was an ok Meath Squad 4 Years ago. Cavan beat Meath that year in the league as well.

Kevin Reilly. Stephen Bray retired since then.

...so the full weight of evidence is " I watch them a lot".....

i would pause and think if I was a Meath supporter

Just checking out these pages for next year: ( There'll be some consolation if we at least have the company of Galway and Meath, so hang on on in there lads... we're coming down, with Down!

I didn't think meath were to bad yesterday. Seemed to be missing scoring forwards a bit like ourselves. seemed scared at times to try a shot. We weren't great yesterday. Colm cav head and shoulders above everyone. Was impressed with meath full back and there number 11, apart from one wayward effort.

I think that Cavan will definitely be promoted. Cavan and Roscommon have trodden more or less the same path over recent years so I expect Cavan to be as competitive in D 1 as the Rossies are this year. I'm sure Cavan are glad they stuck with their manager despite all the stick he was taking from many quarters. He has a cracking team now.

It's always an intriguing division because people want to see who will emerge as a possible challenger in the summer .

We already knew about Tyrone and in truth they belong on D1.

Galway drawing to Armagh is not good albeit a good comeback . I'd say they are still streets behind Mayo and possibly Roscommon .

Derry started well but it's not going good now . I personally thought they would challenge for Ulster but not now .

I fancy Cavan to get promoted by beating Galway on the final day .

Our full back who was at fault for the goal? Apart from that Conor McGill was ok.Cillian O'Sullivan at 11 is a very good player,22 years old he was out injured the last 2 years.

I think the league and championship should now be restructured the league should have 3 divisions 1and 2 with 10 teams and 3 with 12

this would give all teams more games in the league , and then the championship should be divided up into 4 regions ( replacing provinces ) with longford and fermanagh going into the western region , wexford and carlow in to the southern division , all the rest remain sthe same

i would then seed the top 2 teams in each region based on previous years legue standings , 2 groups of 4 would then play round robin
home and away , with the top 2 in each region playing in the regional finals with the winners going into the semi finals , this would give all teams a reasnoble number of games and would end all the training with no games , and it could be played off quickly enough and give most club teams a chance tp play club championship in good weather ,.. this is worth a try and would be better than what we have , look how close the league matches have been
