on Armagh only last year they were being tipped for success by a lot of people in media
this despite being relegated to div 3 is it because of there past glory days maybe
certainly poor team now saw them play Fermanagh and it was div 3 or 4 stuff from both sides
by the way I see there another Donnelly on scene for tyrone Richie brother of mattie
looks to have played well what age is he

Armagh are in serious trouble, it seemed clear to me last night that their players were not interested, the lack of guile and heart indicates a team who aren't happy with their manager, we have them in the first round of Ulster, I'll take that all day.

Let's be clear about Armgh they are very average and with a poor manager IMO they have little to offer. Spoke to a young Kildare man who is now back in panel and he tells me that McGeeney really didn't inspire them and when the chips were down he had no Plan B in fact he didn't really have a Plan A.

Ht in Galway and Meath on another path of Jekyll and Hyde football, from the surreal to the sublime. Unreal, lets hope its not a second half collapse again like last week or Westmeath game. Shocking to say 9 points up and as nervous as been a point down.

Sorry royaldunne I don't think it was that meath played so well in the 1st half I just think Galway were an absolute disaster and even in the 2nd half we stopped playing for the the last few mins. As usual Galway footballers get a few decent performances think they're amazing so don't show up when they're playing a team that consider "weaker"

Sorry galwayfball. Meath were a shambles in second half, no matter what no team should give up a 9 point lead to go 3 behind. Meath have the players, they just dont have the management FACT. We are where we are and if mod doesn't step aside then we are screwed. Meath should have won that game by 10+ fair play to Galway for coming back, but I guess its eady when no matter what ht score os you know opposition is just going to crumble.

We'll have to agree to disagree royaldunne

But you won't come across much teams who'll score an own goal

Andy, just wondering how many years have Laois been in Div 2? I know they nearly went down last year.

For me Cavan are in the top two teams in the division and were unlucky in their first two matches. The also have added a forward or two since then and that helps.

Cavan played great football last night. Their forwards are up there with the best in Ulster, compact at the defence too. Fancy them to go up with tyrone, with all their remaining fixtures looking winnable. As for my own county i hope its nothing more than a rude awakening. Yes we are likely to get relegated but supporting Armagh I know myself that a turn around is only around the corner as this has happened manys of times before and we've bounced back better even in recent times we got relegated to division 3 and still that year made the all ireland quarters and impressed in Croke park. Also having arguably the best club team in Ireland at their expense in Crossmaglen, to have one cross clubman on the panel last night is beyond a joke.

Crikey, Laois have been in the top two divisions since the leagues were restructured from the old 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B formats. Cant remember for the life of we when exactly that was, possibly around 2008 or thereabouts.
They have been in the first division on two seperate occasions going down on both times. Think last year was the closest they have come to getting relegated from Div2, I reckon it was merely a stay of execution though. Hard to see us getting victories over Cavan, Meath or Derry to stay in this division after seeing the way we played against Fermanagh and Galway.

Wish I shared your optimism. We are in place now where we discuss if we had this player available or played this tactic we might be competitive. We have no settled team and no clear tactic. We are in a sorry dark place. 2014 everything lined up perfectly in terms of injuries and morale. This year we have players dropping out and a team made of chocolate. There will be no turnaround this year, We will be relegated to division 3 and we will lose to Cavan in Ulster.

Either that or Sat night was a masterstroke lulling Cavan into a false sense of security/overconfidence ahead of the first round in Ulster.

Since Sean Boylan retired a decade ago, you've already raced through 5 different managers. Might be time to look beyond simply blaming the men on the sideline...

You'd have to fear for Galway when they come up against the big 2 in Connacht.

If they're not beating the likes of Meath handily then they've no chance against Mayo or Roscommon.

It's early days though this season but they'll need a major improvement.

Thomas Clarke, that's the problem, many of those manager should nit have been cot rid of, Barry should have been given another year, coyler same, Obrien another two years, he did actually reach all ire semi beat dubs and get a Leinster, so now the mantra is stability they frightened to get rid of the worst of them all
