Dublin v Kerry

Yerra Clondalkin Kerry were never a team for the cold nights in January.

Wait till the ground hardens up and the sun starts shinning and judge us then...

I would never write a Kerry team off,but last Septembers All Ireland and last Saturday's game saw Dublin pretty much dominate Kerry.Only for hitting the post, crossbar and spurning lots of great goal chances,Dublin really should have won both games by 10+.I know it's early days, but i was very impressed with Dublin's attitude on Saturday. If the players keep their eye on the ball, remain hungry and driven,i would see us as firm favourites to win the All Ireland this year.I think there is a bit of a gulf developing between us and Kerry.I may live to regret these words, but that's how i see it at present.

Hard to know where Kerry need to go tactically to get the better of the Dubs, certainly they don't have the personnel to go man to man but also doubtful if the Dubs will be caught out by a defensive formation, I think they have learned that lesson. Sure on a given day if lady luck shines very brightly on the kingdom they could come out on top but with the apparent widening gulf between the teams, on most days there will be only one winner. Remember Dublin lined out on Saturday minus Jack(played for last 25mns), Philly and Bernard, the three nominees for POY 2015, MDMA POY 2013, Brian Fenton, AllStar midfielder 2015 and Kevin Mac, the best impact sub in the game. In their last two encounters the Dubs have dominated much more than the scoreline would suggest and this is the issue Gavin needs to address.

Ah I wouldnt be overly worried yet! Kerry are not long back from their holiday and are likely going through tough training at the moment. We beat Dublin in the league last year ;-)

Dublin are the team to beat....but beatable at the end of they day by 3 or 4 teams.

A manager slating his players attitude in public is never a good sign and fast way to lose the trust of those players. If indeed the players attitude is wrong then it is managers fault and nobody else! it is the manager's responsibility to sort it out in the dressing room and on the training field not via the media.

You know why - don't you? Kerry don't like being second best and they're as bitter as lemon about it! What guts them more is this Dublin team is actually quite popular because of the style of enteraining football they play. I think everybody knows we are watching something special and the team of this decade without a doubt. By the time this decade is done we might even be talking in terms of them being the greatest team of all time.

Kerry won't beat Dublin this year and neither will Mayo and frankly I can't really see who will? Dublin have better and more players of an equally high standard to pick from than anybody else. Dublin in my view can only beat themselves, i.e. they lost to Donegal tactically in 2014 not because Donegal had better players because they didn't and they don't and no one does! I think Kerry will possibly be back strong again in 3-4 years IF some of their young lads come through from all their underage success with minors and schools.

I'm Mayo to the bone but I'm also a massive fan of Gaelic football and I watch all teams, not just my own. I've admired other teams over the years in different eras. When I praised and tipped Tyrone on here over the years i can tell you the Kerry fellas weren't happy. However, I never really liked Dublin before this era. For example under Pillar, I thought they were brash and arrogant and there was something fake about the way they did all those gimmicks, like linking arms and walking to the Hill. There was no substance.

Now this Dublin team is different and they play a brand of football that is so entraining to watch with a power and pace we've never seen the likes of before. Anybody who loves Gaelic football would have to admire them. However, I'd still love Mayo to be the team that beats you!!!!

James h,your bang on about some the escapades under Pillar. It was embarrassing to see them walk up to the hill arm-in-arm.Was for me anyway, and judging by John Leonard's book, some of the players thought reading the "blue book" was cringe worthy.Absolute baloney.
