So because Murphy plays back the field for periods in a game, he isn't worth being seemed a forward as well as McFadden? That doesn't make sense seeing as Murphy scored 1-3. Pretty good return for a forward who play back the field. Marquee ability you might call it! Donegal_abroad (Donegal) - Posts: 1321 - 14/01/2016 19:36:55 1816728 Link 0 |

Pointless trying to point out the obvious to the master and his ilk on this particular journey with Mayo. They are in denial , they have actually convinced themselves you don't need a couple of forwards of proper finishing quality to win an all Ireland . The stats speak for themselves , the scores from play in finals is standout poor . There is a major problem in Mayo , they don't have quality forwards . syferuseen (Roscommon) - Posts: 80 - 14/01/2016 20:45:14 1816750 Link 0 |
In 2011/2012 Colm McFadden was the definition of a marquee forward. MesAmis (Dublin) - Posts: 13710 - 14/01/2016 20:58:44 1816752 Link 0 |
Yeh the Mayo marquee forward thing is worn out at this stage, they don't have one, O'Connor is a dead ball merchant, that is where he is at his best! The younger brother could turn out to be hot property, but we'll have to wait and see. Still think they have a great chance this year, if they're not completely drained from it all. Mayo undoubtedly do not possess the firepower that would have won them a couple of all Ireland's at this stage. catch22 (USA) - Posts: 2148 - 17/01/2016 10:00:08 1817092 Link 0 |
Early days lads! If there is a possible wildcard winner outside of the present big 3 of Dublin/Mayo/Kerry being predicted by many, it would not surprise me if it was Tyrone who took home the big prize! I think Tyrone have their mojo back and their graph is on an upward curve, they won't be far off it come August/September. I can't see Kerry getting by this present Dublin team who have a fair old psychological choke hold on their necks at this stage. Dublin are the masters now in that relationship and they will walk the doggy all day with them. I think Dublin will be in the final facing either Mayo/Tyrone. The only psychological hold anyone has at the top table of the GAA JamesH, is the Kingdom over your boys... as has been displayed ad naseium since 1997 TheHermit (Kerry) - Posts: 6354 - 18/01/2016 10:53:06 1817300 Link 0 |
I see Keith Higgins picked up a serious knee injury yesterday, management not sure yet but are hopeful it wont be a "season ending injury". Belclare1 (Galway) - Posts: 1626 - 18/01/2016 11:04:42 1817306 Link 0 |
Like Tyrone in the noughties Dublin have beaten us a few times in a row, however just as Tyrone claimed to have a psychological edge over us, we will look back on Dublin in a few years and wonder what all the fuss was about when inevitably Kerry will gain the upper hand once more.
