Well done the GPA - hurling coverage

I think that before the AI semis is the best time. It will raise the profile, more people will watch them and more supporters from the participating counties might attend when there a big hurling match to see afterwards. Saturday matches are just tokens, give them the big stage.

How to make a point well, as opposed to someone else who tried to make the same point and just looked ignorant.

The problem I have with playing them before All-Ireland semi-finals is that once the county season is going there will be no club hurling happening in these counties. The hurling clubs in these counties are already at their best trying to avoid club football fixtures. Maybe there's a way to work around that but it's not there at the moment...

The ignorance was on your part Slayer, not mine.

Now, now ladies ;-) I usually enjoy both your posts....I think it's fair to say we're all on the same side so let's just draw a line through this & move on.

Think it might be time to get rid of the Lory Meagher now as a 4-5 team competition has limited appeal, especially as Sligo and Louth (and possibly Warwickshire) could easily compete with a number of sides in the Nicky Rackard. The longterm aim really should be to have just 2 competitions, the McCarthy and the Ring, but with every side in each being competitive. The idea of playing these finals in August might sound attractive but is just not practical.

Whatever about doing away with the Lory Meagher, the Nicky Rackard will have to stay for the forseeable future.
