What's going on in Dublin hurling ?

Nolan is a very good shotstopper but Maguire brings a lot more stability & reliabilty to the defence, in my opinion. Dublin really missed a fit Peter Kelly & Sutcliffe this year.

No you're definitely not jimbo. From my reading on here the last while you've been too busy being at every sporting event that's ever happened

Bit like yourself when it comes to all things Mayo and Kerry. Seeing as a good number of them are actually you i suppose it wouldn't be too hard to do that now would it?

I think it's disappointing for all hurling supporters if Sutcliffe isn't involved with Dublin next year,a real top class forward when he's in form and the sort of player punters pay to watch

Probably good news for my county as we play them in the 1st round of Leinster

Don't know enough about what is happening behind the scenes so its difficult to know what exactly is the mood within the camp but appearances would suggest that there are some issues that are causing friction.
Not to judge a book by its cover but I don't get the sense from Cunningham that he has the charisma or personality that is that extra element that you need to inspire players to perform to their maximum.
Daly gave you the impression that he would do anything for the players and in return they would give 110% for him.Now it didn't always work granted but I think he had that x factor.

We don't know all the details yet, for example is Sutclffe taking time to travel/study abroad? Does he just feel he needs a year off?

We can all have our opinion though. Mine is that things can't be right in the background. Danny walked last summer apparently but was coaxed back. Add that to Carton walking. Then we had the entire back room team leave a few months back. Alan Nolan is at least on a par with McGuire and with a better puck out so why he's dropped is a mystery unlikely there's a better keeper in Dublin then him. Lambert done his cruciate and worked his socks off to get back fit for 2015. What could he possibly have done to be dropped?

Keaney was half expected to retire anyway, though I think he'd still do a job at 14 or off the bench

Another issue was this squad saying they wanted a bigger name then Shay Boland. They have no right to decide whose the right manager for them. Shay had a fine record with minor and 21 teams. Is this a case that this is "dalys team"? And until some players are gone that any manager that comes in will face the same problems?

Just hope it's all settled and we have our best players available to us

Donal Og Cusack saw the trouble brewing. As a close buddy of Cuningham he would have been only too willing to get involved with him. Imagine if he was still GPA chairman and having to assist the players in getting rid of Cunningham! Wise moves by Cusack.

Ah ha! You're that poster!

I remember that bizarre post of yours alright. I think it was in relation to a thread about people being to a big final or something. I mentioned, along with one or two others, that I'd been lucky enough to go to a Champions League final and you were having none of it!

Good man! I see you've moved onto poor Jimbo now. Enjoy!

Hate to say it

But I'd be surprised if we stay in 1A this year

Especially considering some of our away games...

It's not looking good

NHL Champions and Leinster Champions and coming close to make an AI Final on a couple of occasions...

It just shows how great those achievement's are now... substantial achievements

Listen there's no harm having so little hype.. we can only hope

Bit shocked Nolan got the chop, really solid goalkeeper, surely worth having in reserve

Don't know if it's anything to do with it, but Nolans a very popular figure in the dressingroom, and it's very harsh on him being dropped unreasonably after working so dedicatedly and patiently for years to make his way onto the team (a thankless task for a sub goalie, as anyone can appreciate). Lambert too (although he would've been closer to the edge of the panel) after working his way back after serious injuries. Not that they were dropped so much as the way they (apparently) were has ruffled a few feathers. Cunningham was known to be poor enough at man-management, maybe this failing has come home to roost

'it takes one to know one'?? Hahahaha how old are you?

Please point out my 'deluded' posts please. And no, I'm not Jimbo before you try and offload some of his posts on me. Off you go now.

Report in the Independent today says that Sutcliffe wants to concentrate on his studies this year, which is fair enough. I notice he hasn't been slagging the management off like some of the other lads so I suspect he sees his absence as temporary.

I'm not convinced by Cunningham myself but I think we should see how 2016 pans out before calling for his head. Whoever came in after Daly was going to have to freshen that team up a bit. They might have handled things better than GC has, and I'm surprised by some of his decisions to put it mildly, but let's see what the League brings.

One other thing, this forum would be a lot more enjoyable if people stayed on topic and stopped taking a cut out of each other.

I wouldn't say they are so much slagging off the management as expressing their disappointment which is natural.
Considering they time and effort they invested I would like to know exactly what kind of conversation took place ŵhen they were cut loose. I know panels evolve and change but knowing how to deal with guys too is what I think GC is lacking. This is one of the vital elements I think I being a top manager and could be where his weakness lies.

Didn't take long for the wheels to come off this bandwagon.

What are you talking about? There was never any bandwagon when it came to Dublin hurling. Typical begrudgery to take pleasure in
the misfortunes of another county . . .sup[pose it keeps your mind off your own County's pathetic record.

Don't give this troll any oxygen. They're on under another username also and active on other topics so obviously just looking for attention. Proper sad case.

>> Point taken, "slagging off" was unfair to the players involved. Also agree that man management doesn't seem to be one of GC's strong points.
