Towns/villages in Counties with no gaa club

Tomsmith here
I just wonder which County has the most towns/villages that do not have a gaa club
I will classify a town/village as a place that has a garda station post office and chapel
I am of the opinion that. Co. Cavan. Bottom of the list with gaa in virtually every town/village
I am told that co. Donegal tops the list with probably 10 towns/villages with no gaa club of its own

There's only 16 Garda stations in Meath, and every single one has a local GAA club. So by your strict definition we have 0 aswell.

Hi Tomsmith there - would say it would definitely be one of them Northern Counties and probably one of the more Unionisty populated like ourselves or Down. I started to go through all the lovely villages of Co Antrim alphabetically and had ran out of fingers and toes before I had got beyond the letter B so know there are definitely a lot more than 24.

Lots of villages have no GAA club or grounds of their own but link up with other villages. St James' the current Wexford champions are an amalgamation of 4 villages, Arthurstown, Ballyhack, Duncannon and Ramsgrange.

Delgany in Wicklow has no GAA team. Any interested players would probably link up with Eire Og in Greystones.

123 Towns, Villages, or Hamlets in Antrim not including belfast (according to wikipedia). 22 have GAA clubs, 101 don't. Glenariffe and creggan don't seem to have a town or village around them, unless Glenariffe counts as Waterfoot, in which case that number changes to 23 with, 100 without.

Lots of big towns in South Dublin with no GAA club - Blackrock, Ballsbridge, Dun Laoghaire, Ranelagh, Dundrum, Donneybrook...etc although there is a team of country lads in Ranelagh

Any interested GAA players in Ballyclare or Larne would be best advised to keep a low profile. Or wear a poppy over your GAA jersey to confuse them enough to give you time to escape.

Badmonkey, dundrum-churchtown gaa club is amalgamated into st Olafs, dunleary is served by cuala,.there isn't really any part of Dublin where there isn't a GAA club, the problem is more often than not in the lack of interest from the (potential) players

Don't know of any town in Mayo with no GAA club, though some, like Hollymount/ Carramore, have amalgamated in recent years.

Yeah badmonkey South East Dublin isn't full of GAA clubs. Rugby stronghold and all that. Although almost everyone in those areas has relatively easy access to a GAA club.

South/North West Dublin, the Nothside and North County all well served with GAA clubs practically everywhere.

They are linked up with St. Francis Gaels which is the men's section of the club. Not a 100% sure but I think they're essentially the same club.

Foxrock/Cabinteely do have a boys Academy. I think they struggle to keep them as they get older though and the club is definitely known as a powerhouse for Ladies Football. Maybe the boys get teased for belonging to what's seen as a "girls' club"??? I don't know.

A nephew of mine used to play for them but he left because training clashed with Rugby.
