That free miss will haunt that poor fella for years to come. His teammates and people close to him will have to rally around and support him. He will never feel lower on a football pitch.

A few observation abt leinster final today
1. Durkan proved to be the difference between the teams.
His finger tip save was outstanding.
2 portloaise shouldve won by 5 pts
3. The ref was poor

Ref let Ballyboden away with an awful lot of pulling and dragging. They should have had another 2 or 3 guys blackcarded for hauling fellas down.

Good game, Portlaoise should have won but then again, they were lucky that Vincents didn't qualify to play them.

1. Portlaoise kicked it away bad wides and missing free at end cost them dear feel sorry for the chap that missed it will Def haunt him hope he can bounce back from it.

2. Blame the ref what's new there amazing how people always find a way to blame someone for a loss.

3. To all the keyboard warriors on here take up the whistle yourself learn the rules then comment on refs performance sick of reading comments here about refs from keyboard warriors go do it yourselfs then comment one word for ye all cowards.

PL should have won?

BB should have score 5-6 goals today...

They should have had two late on only for BB FF being very wasteful..

Both sides wasted a lot of opportunities

But Boden spurned 9-12 points through missed goal chances... 3 of which were one on ones with the keeper

Even PL's goal was an OG...

For me... BB deserved it, it shouldn't have even been a contest before the missed free

BB's goal conversion rate will need to vastly improve... They opened up PL a fair amount to only come away with 2 goals

Yeh Jimbo, I thought they were the better side for most of it, just an opinion but delighted for Ballyboden!

Yet another bias view from you when it comes to Dublin teams.

What about the BB man not being back far enough for the last free? Did you miss that?
Or the countless drag downs by them?
Or countless times they were overrun?

I would say if you're going to comment try to hide your bias but we all know that ant going to happen any time soon....

The biggest thing to take away from todays game is that the football club All Ireland is Castlebar's to lose

great game yesterday.. I thought a draw prob would have been the fair result, both sides very wasteful and poor callihane missing that free.. Nerves got to him, he took a long time to take it too.. You got to be kicking frees from their with that pressure off the ground!

Castlebar are now the obvious favourites. Don't think boden have enough killer instinct to win the AI and they have no game changers bar Basquel and Durcan in goal. that is my opinion anyway but I will be shouting for Boden and would love to see them do it

Definitely Cartslebar's to lose now after beating the current AI champions and they have a point to prove after losing in 2014. Funny I would prefer to play a Mayo team in a final than a semi as they always pull it out in the semis but collapse in Croke Park on finals day.

For what it's worth I thought the ref had a super game yesterday, contributing to a decent game in poor conditions

Not true. Crossmolina (2001) and Ballina (2005) won the all-Ireland. Castlebar lost the final in 2014 but that was no collapse - they were up against a star-studded St. Vincents side who were red-hot favourites after hammering most opponents en route to the final and Mitchels gave them a right good rattle.

Genuinely don't remember Vincent's being favourites in 2014. If they were, they were certainly not red hot favourites. As for 'star studded' - 4 inter county players (1 who was retired, 1 who never kicked a ball again for Dublin, one who has never kicked a Championship ball for Dublin) is hardly star studded.

A bit of unnecessary revisionism there.

Vinnies were a complete surprise package that year. Looking back it might seem odd but it's true.

Mayo teams have lost more finals than they've won and that's why I'm saying that. They've a good record of making finals but have only won 2 out of 8 appearances.

Enjoyable game yesterday, that last free is just one of those things. Huge congrats to Andy mcentee what a magnificent manager to bring bb so far , from a Meath point , i guess the obvious question is how the hell did we let him go and why isn't he Meath manager? Ahhh the quagmire that is Meath cb. If it wasn't so serious it would be funny.

Andy Mc Entee's time in the Royal county hot seat will come RD, doing a fantastic job in getting Boden their first Leinster football title and well into bonus territory now but hopefully they can get two more huge wins.
