The hurling fraternity in Ireland is elitist, arrogant and very, very partitionist. They barely tolerate Dublin's rise and even then only because of the money and publicity they bring. Ger Loughnane has added his tuppence worth to the mix with his usual dismissal of Cushendall and Antrim hurling. While no doubt we have big problems in Antrim the fact is that Croke Park and the established hurling counties have NEVER helped us bar one or two exceptions. As some have said there is NEVER comment when other clubs take bad beatings in the club Championships BUT Antrim sides take a lot of flak even though Loughgiel have won the All Ireland twice. It is the usual biased hypocrisy that Antrim and Ulster Gaels have become used to and further vindicates the point I keep making about a two tiered Association.
