Is James Horan the man Mayo should turn to?

Horan is an excellent manager to a point. He is over rated by some people in my view.
His decision making at crucial times in 2012, 2013 & 2014 let Mayo down.
He was too loyal to certain players and is slow to make tactical or personnel changes in big games. I feel we would have beaten Dublin in 2013 All Ireland Final if Horan made the right tactical calls.
His biggest weakness appears to be that he won't take advice from other members of his management team (apart from his yes man Prendegast).
If he can get someone with him who knows what to do at key moments in big games (and IF Horan listens to them); he's the best man for Mayo management.

If he came back with the same set up and mindset as before it would be a pointless exercise.

Considering Mayo have won 5 Connaught championships and contested a couple of All Irelands I think he has been good for this group of players.Because they did not win Sam it will ultimately be viewed as failure to some degree but considering where they started from I would say he has raised the bar for Mayo standards.Probably a little unlucky to come up against this current Dublin crop of players on a few occasions and Donegal were on an upward curve earlier in his reign also.Probably should have beaten Kerry last year but just couldn't get over the line and would have given Donegal a run for their money no doubt.

Horan made some tactical errors and by all accounts his selectors didn't have much input but Horan owes Mayo nothing, a great job overall. Don't think he should go back.
