Flaker....So Player power wins out in an instance and it time to simply 'move on' and forget about it. Cant see too many interested in taking over under those circumstances and that attitude. ZUL10 (Clare) - Posts: 693 - 04/10/2015 21:25:41 1795764 Link 0 |

I said before I am not a fan of players having total control but sometimes it can be the right thing. Good man Jim zzzzzzzz. I was talking more along the lines of a strike etc etc. The likes of COC and Keith Higgins are not lads who will shift the blame to anyone but the players, they never do when interviewed but if they don't think what went on was good enough then I would trust them. I cannot stand the idea of joint managers by the way! TheFlaker (Mayo) - Posts: 7902 - 04/10/2015 21:42:39 1795769 Link 0 |
Fair play to the 2 lads for stepping aside and not dragging this out like Cork and Limerick. MesAmis (Dublin) - Posts: 13710 - 05/10/2015 08:05:53 1795774 Link 0 |
Previous post : Ultimately the players were right what they did ? Erm well that remains to be seen. Can't call that one at the moment. All these player power movements are not good for the game and the dreaded vote of confidence by the county board at the end of the year doesn't seem to be enough in some counties now. I'd say that Ultimately the players in Mayo have heaped more unnecessary pressure on themselves for the 2016 year . Best of luck to them with that. moros (Roscommon) - Posts: 1080 - 05/10/2015 09:00:04 1795785 Link 0 |
I agree there is more pressure on them and in my opinion the reality is 1-15 they are still a couple of players short, but that doesn't mean they should be happy to play within a setup that was substandard. They need to give themselves the best possible chance. As I have said before the likes of Higgins and COC are not attention seeking divas, and they certainly don't blame anyone but themselves after a defeat, their post match interviews would confirm that. I just don't see this being the huge controversy people are making it out to be. The players were not happy, the mangagement walked away after talks, it can happen. There obviously aren't too many players on here who have been part of an average set up! TheFlaker (Mayo) - Posts: 7902 - 05/10/2015 09:24:02 1795797 Link 0 |
MesAmis, that is true, although it is my understanding that the players had no part in the story finding it's way into the press. TheMaster (Mayo) - Posts: 16187 - 05/10/2015 09:59:35 1795813 Link 0 |
Personally don't get idea of dual managers. I doubt there are too many instances of it being really successful. Dubh_linn (Dublin) - Posts: 2312 - 05/10/2015 11:29:07 1795870 Link 0 |

Faith in manager me a--e there long enough around now to know what to do without needing to blame managers for there shortcomings. I won't be supporting Mayo or Galway anymore , very hard to like these players now. clondalkindub (Dublin) - Posts: 9926 - 05/10/2015 12:19:53 1795908 Link 0 |
