I'd say in the last decade I went to 100+ games, in both codes and in all 4 provinces, and on only 2 occasions I had problems with gaining entry/stewards, and both occasions they were in Croke park. And one of the times reminds me exactly of Teddys incident.

I had got my hands on a couple of premium level tickets for div.3+4 football finals on a Saturday night a few years back. Waterford were playing in the d4 final, so a friend of mine from Waterford came up for the game (I was living in Dublin at the time).

We headed to the game an hour early, my friend had never seen premium level so we said we could arrive early and relax with a pint before the game. Went to the Hogan stand and we were told to go to Cusack entrance. An hour before throw-in so we weren't too bothered. Got around to Cusack entrance and they tell us there no, entrance is Hogan, go back. So we went back to the Hogan, and again they tell us there we have to use Cusack entrance. By this stage it's 5mins to throw-in, and there's a few others aswell with the same problem. After a few more minutes of "discussion" between a few lads ahead of us in the stiles and some stewards, someone finally decided to let us in there.

I kept my cool that day, but if I'd paid €50 for my ticket or my County was playing, I probably would have lost my temper like Mr. McCarthy.

Bull thats nonsense.Because Teddy decided to drive all the way home to Cork, you wanted the other 20 or so lads to boycott the event?Another Cork strike wouldn't have gone down very well.]link

Yes i would expect that from a team. If I was refused entry to a pub or nite club I would be expecting my buddies to back me up and not go in either.

I understand that the steward who sent Teddy packing is from Laois and was therefore perfectly to run him.
