Does Andrews deserve an All Star I know he only really played 3 games but he was vital in all of these games and All Stars are really only won on Semi Finals and Finals as seen in the past with Donaghy and Dj Carey. He scored 7 points from play against Mayo in the two games being marked by Mayo's greatest defender in the modern era in Keith Higgins and I think he had a good final should have laid off the ball when he went for goal otherwise won 95% of ball that came into him

Monaghan exile, you couldn't argue with that team, very impressive. I would have left bernard out as well.

Any all-stars/team of the year, that doesn't include Michael Murphy isn't worth considering in my opinion, the best footballer in the country by a mile.

Have to say I agree with TirChonaillabu2. Michael Murphy is the best player in the country and he deserves an all star at 14. Could we borrow him in Mayo for a year?

Kealy McMahon - O'Carroll - Enright Keegan - O'Sullivan - McCaffrey Fenton - Donnelly/Maher/Moran Connolly/D O'Connor - Kilkenny - D.Walsh McManus - A. O'Shea - Brogan
Connolly's red card will probably go against him. As will the job Keegan done on him in the replay. I thought he was decent in the final, gathered possession and very rarely gave it away. Not exceptional but very few were in a poor game. I think if Fenton doesn't get one it is a travesty, MOTM in the All Ireland final in his debut season against a very solid partnership. Brilliant.
I agree Murphy is a superb footballer and in the top 3 in the country. But he did not show it in the championship this year. Nobody form Donegal did when it mattered.

Kealy Enright O'Carroll McMahon Keegan O'Sullivan McCaffrey Maher Fenton O'Connor Kilkenny Walsh McManus Andrews Brogan
POTY: Kilkenny (McCaffrey will get it and I have no issue with that either)
YPOTY: I'm not sure what the criteria is to be honest. If under 23: Fenton If u-21: O'Connor (which would probably mean he wouldn't get an all star)
This is the team I would go with anyway. A lot of people miss out and there's too many to name but that's the way it goes. I think the full back line picks itself but midfield and half back line especially have a lot of lads that played to a similar level. I think 4 out of the six forward positions are locked down with O'Connor and Andrews fairly likely to miss out unfortunately.
I'm really not a fan of moving players out of their positions to accommodate them although it is certain to happen every year. An all-star should be a prestigious award for a player so someone missing out when they might have been the best in their position is harsh. Moving someone along their own line is fine but playing a half back in the full back line for example shouldn't happen. If there were better players in your position that is unlucky but come back next year and play better than them.

For me:
1. Brendan Kealy - Ciarraí
2. Shane Enright - Ciarraí 3. Rory O'Carroll - Áth Cliath 4. Philly McMahon - Áth Cliath
5. Lee Keegan - Maigh Eo 6. Cian O'Sullivan - Áth Cliath 7. Jack McCaffrey - Áth Cliath
8. Anthony Maher - Ciarraí 9. Mattie Donnelly - Tír Eoghain
10. Diarmuid O'Connor - Maigh Eo 11. Ciarán Kilkenny - Áth Cliath 12. Donncha Walsh - Ciarraí
13. Conor McManus - Muineachán 14. Michael Murphy - Dún na nGall 15. Bernard Brogan - Áth Cliath
Plenty of other players could be included in fairness. I'm sure another 15 could easily be picked.

Tis a grand team. There are 4 Ulster players who have a massive claim to be on that team; Peter Harte (Tyr); Mattie Donnelly (Tyr); Michael Murphy (Dngl) Conor McManus(Mon). In my opinion, Conor McManus was the next best forward in the country , this year after Bernard Brogan. )

The All Stars are a lot less predictable this year. There is sure to be controversy no matter who is picked. My team would be:
Stephen Cluxton Johnny Cooper - Philly McMahon - Shane Enright James McCarthy - Colm Boyle - Jack McCaffrey Anthony Maher - David Moran Tiernan McCann - Ciaran Kilkenny - Diarmuid Connolly Conor McManus - Aidan O'Shea - Bernard Brogan
That's 8 Dubs, 3 from Kerry, 2 Mayo men and 1 each from Tyrone and Monaghan. I would hope the All Star committee would try to avoid restricting the team to the usual quota from each county (7 from the champions, 4 from the finalists, etc). I am not a fan of moving players around on All Star teams either although I've done it with Philly McMahon and Colm Boyle as I feel the full-back and centre-back positions are quite weak this year. Ronan McNamee is unlucky. The goalkeeper is also a weak position.
Johnny Cooper will be very unlucky if he misses out. A lot of Dubs on here saluting Philly McMahon for 'playing on the edge' but Cooper is a superior footballer in the art of defending, from tackling to reading the play, and making interceptions to soloing out with the ball. McMahon has had a fantastic year but Cooper is probably the best corner-back in the game.

Cluxton,Cooper,o'Carroll,McMahon,McCarthy,O'Sullivan,McCaffrey,Fenton,Maher,Flynn(on the basis of his all Ireland final performance),Kilkenny,Connolly ,McManus,Andrews,Brogan. This is simple enough for me Dublin won National League, Leinster and All-Ireland beating the 2nd and 3rd ranked teams on the way, the only 2 players I would not give an award to are Bastick who had a good year but lasts 40 mins and Rock who was poor in the semi finals and Final. We have to be honest here Dublin are far and away the best team in the country at the moment and swept the boards this year.

This is always a farce to be fair its picked really from semi finals onwards one player who deserves one is sean quigley plays for a small county with little resources, not surrounded by top players, is the main man of his team and carries that well, top scorer in league and championship, and give the dublin full bk line awful trouble. Bernard brogan, conor Mcmanus and big sean my full forward line.

Id say their are 2 full forward positions filled..Brogan and Mcmanus
How are people so quick to give the full forward position to A oshea, i rate him very highly but he failed overall at full forward this year, Sean quigley offered scoring threat from play, two great feet and great out let for frees from ridiculous distances.. imo the only other man who should get the last forward slot ahead of him would be c oconnor!!
