Jaysus jimbo - you swung the sword of damocles over the last one that got locked and my nice post didn't get up. Who are your connections?? ;-)

Incidentally my post which didn't get up became even more apt given the story that came out about the Kerry fleg.

"This high and mighty viewpoint to make out that you are the liberal free thinker and everyone else are in some way ignorant is getting a bit hard to stomach."

Sorry if ive upset your stomach. Im simply expression my views like everyone else on here. i try and do it without personally attaching any one poster for his or her views, beliefs and even username.

I am a liberal free thinker as most people should be. Liberal is fair to all, free is your own opinion and thinking is somewhere we should all pasue at times and do.

Sorry again if i implied anyone was ignorant but at no stage have i done this on purpose

Tom1916 you are the same chap that said letting security forces play our game as 'discusting'

This is the same style of thinking that probably went through the heads of these lads who attacked the club if they are sectarian attackers as some are claiming.

these attitudes will only take us back

Also to my Meath colleague i am well aware what has gone on with gaa in the north, i condemned it then i wil condemn it now, however to use such a act of vandalism to stoke up sectarianism is not what we need in 2015, allow the proper independent both catholic and protestant psni to do their job.

Yes lets stick together and condemn all actions be they burning orange halls or gaa clubhouse or any other form of criminal activity.
I am asking anyone from the damaged club or anyone within county to put up a link to a Facebook page or something that is organising fundraising for this club, i am more than happy to contribute. Rather than stoking tensions of the past and bigoted sentiments, it would be a much more proactive way forward

There's an underlying constant noise just waiting to erupt on this topic

It's the reason why the Non-sports forum was taken down

Agree. My issue like your own wasnt that I dont condem this attack I just believe in a society where everyone is given a fair chance. We need more facts before jumping to conclusions. Doing this is a danger to civil rights and can send a place into darkness. We are from a land of scholars and saints.....time we started acting like it. We need to assess a situation as it arises in a proper way and wait until we know the facts or should we just go the way of the UK tabloid and just make it up as we go along?

So DCFC you think it is ok for these types of attacks considering by your own words you don't condemn them

To fair as someone said in a previous post there could have been different reasons for what happens Sat night/Sun morning whether it may be:

Dislike for the club
Sectarian
Provoke an attack
Insurance/Inside job etc.

I don't think jumping the gun here and calling it a sectarian attack immediately but I do think that the police have already ruled out "hate crime" which I think is foolish.

As for Augher last week having "UVF" burnt onto their field, how can the suspicion be ruled out? People on here say let the PSNI do their job...There will be no/minor investigation involved in this fill in the papers, Moy will get their insurance and have to build/fix the club house having their history, memorabilia and other items destroyed. I think the sentimental items lost are valuable that the cost it is to fix the physical items.

I think its time for clubs to be a bit concerned in near future that they might be next as GAA clubs play a vital part in the community and not just for sport. Moy had an Under 10 tournament on Sat morning, if this attack had been on Fri night could you imagine the chaos it would have cost for 20 odd U10 teams, parents and coaches to arrive there and see this for the first time.

In my opinion 1 of 2 reasons why they have ruled out hate crime

1. They have a good lead
2. They are trying to calm tensions why they investigate further

I wonder do they have CCTV maybe.

Going through several sites. Only people (besides those on here) who believe it is a hate crime is a sinn fein politician. The Moy chairman hasnt even come out with the reason.

DoireCityFC I have read all of the newspaper reports and as you rightly said no one has came out and called it sectarian bar Sinn Fein, but I don't think it can be ruled out. I have no trust in the PSNI to carry out a full investigation to try and find the people who done it just like the number of unpunished Orange Hall that have been on the end of similar attacks. But so soon after the incident in Augher again fire being the weapon of choice I

I don't live far away from the village and I don't believe they do have any CCTV as someone rightly said previously its no old trafford. I think there should be a call for clubs to start installing CCTV on their premises to prevent any anti-social activities and not just the likes of Arson and burglaries etc.

DCFD it appears that Tom Elliott also believes it was sectarian

Ulster Unionist MP Tom Elliott also condemned the attack and accused the perpetrators of seeking to "whip up tension".
"Whether it is through attacking Orange halls, churches or GAA clubs, they need to get the message that the wider community does not support their actions.
