GAA under attack

" One guy compares the GAA with an orange hall-what sport do they play in the orange hall?. "

Maybe read it again. I compared them as they are two building that get attacked. They are both focal points to the members of that community. No they dont play sport you are right. At GAA clubs the pitches are sometimes attacket which results in the members not being able to partake in their pasttime. In the halls drums are attacked which prevents that community partaking in their pasttime.

Of course they are not the same and I wouldnt be in an orange hall myself but for god sakes lads these are human being just like us. They have different beliefs....so what. When you are long dead in your grave who will care? I wont. their is more to life that attacking people in any way.

I dont support unionism in any way. I simply have the intellengence to understand that their can be many sides to every story and poeple should never be picked on for any reason.

It would appear a very small minority may have carried out this attack. They are not the voice of anyone.

I would ask people not to associate this Doire City fella with the club mentioned. He shouldn't even have mentioned our club. We all know the basis for these attacks which have happened over the years and continue to happen are sectarian in nature. To even suggest different is unbelievable.

"Aren't us idiots lucky to have Royaldunne and DoirecityFC to educate us though?"

Expressing ones opinion is not a form of education in my view. I know some people do take opinion as factual and pass these on as their own but not me.

I am simply expressing my views as EVERYONE has a right to do without condemnation

We dont know the basis for this attack. We can only assume. It is very likley yes but we do not know if it is the truth yet. If we make asumptions are we any better than those who make Irish sterotypes throughout the world?

best to let the PSNI investigate it-and improve security around GAA clubs in Tyrone, in my opinion.

Not nice to hear

Wouldn't even attempt to comment

It was a nasty act, one that could have led to someone's death

No doubt they knew well that the club contained high profile GAA players

Hopefully the club will bounce back stronger, actually I have zero doubt that it will

This stuff will probably go on for a fair while yet - it'll take a couple more generations to snuff it before you see a more permanent type of peace.

Sadly it most likley will go on. It takes all parties to move on though and a brave man to take the first step and turn the other cheek

The south has progressed greatly. We should attempt to do the same.

"Brandywell has plenty of empty seats these days."

Not a city fan but sad to hear. The club really gave people hope in the 80s and 90s.

couldnt have been any emptier than celtic park for the longford game last year on a beautiful sunny day or owenbeg for the derry wicklow game in the hurling this year.

Well tom1916. I would never associated with your ilk either.
Is the gaa not above politics. ? The Down guy calls me partionist/west brit cause i believe in a shared future for our country.
I have no time for sectarian bigots, be they catholic or protestant Muslims or Jews . No one who uses religious beliefs as a means for arson/child abuse/murder. Should have any part of our organisation, you don't represent decent gaa folk, kangaroo courts for a abused young girl.
Not in my name. To me they are only **** be they unionists or nationalist. Your political views don't make anymore us and them.
Would tom or blackandred condemn the same attack on a cricket ground or soccer clubhouse? Of course not. They in the past . And no matter united or not will never be a country man of mine or 90%of the republic because you wont be happy. Treat those that did this terrible act same as those who use it to spout their usual bile. You are not Irish you bring shame upon this great country be it north south east or west.

'Trolls'?? You really are all about the soundbites aren't you DCFC.

Get you, you tried to put down not only one of your county men but he is also one of your Club Gaels also, by showing that you attended not one but two games last season.

Reading between the lines it appears that you must not attend your club matches too often as if you did I am sure Rovertin would be used to your idealistic views. I believe in a previous thread you informed all of us ignorant people that you did support Derry City as well as being a rugby fan

DCFC I'm sure it hasn't passed your attention that the GAA is about people sticking together and supporting one another. It's about building communities, clubhouses and facilities. Not burning them down. The majority based on experience over the years will have a wild stab at the reason for this. Just as the PSNI immediately say Orange hall attacks were sectarian. This high and mighty viewpoint to make out that you are the liberal free thinker and everyone else are in some way ignorant is getting a bit hard to stomach.
